100 YEARS OF HORROR (1996) #NowWatching #Horror Christopher Lee hosts this 26-part series. It's a solid primer covering most aspects of the genre. Lots of clips and eps are a concise 20-25 mins. #HorrorMovies 🧛‍♂️ #Filmsky 🎬

THE FAMILY WAY (1967) #PaulMcCartney 's first foray into film soundtrack music was produced & arranged by #GeorgeMartin and his imprint here is strong. Not a particularly memorable effort with some tracks having a generic "sound library" feel. Perhaps fine in the film but on album bland #MusicSky 🎵

THE VERY BEST OF MELANIE (1998) Excellent on-boarding album for folk-rock flower child #Melanie. Prominent in the late 60s/early 70s for covers of Dylan, Stones as well as her own originals. This 21-track compilation is a solid spread of hits & key tracks from her heyday. Versatile talent #MusicSky🎵

SUPER RELAX (1997) Before launching his solo career #SeanLennon joined indie pop duo #CiboMatto on this 9-track EP. It's a satisfying but odd mix of indie & trip hop styles which gets a little funky too. 4 mixes of signature track SUGAR WATER. A live track. A Stones cover. Album length EP #MusicSky

Fantasy artwork of the duo Cibo Matto who look like they are in a snow dome. There is a crescent moon, some buildings and a black cat, and stars.

PUSSYCATS (1974) After several highly regarded albums #HarryNilsson partnered with booze buddy #JohnLennon for a change of direction, damaging his vocal cords in the process. Despite receiving harsh reviews at the time, it's not the train wreck some would have you believe. #MusicSky 🎵🐈‍⬛

Album cover looks like a children's puppet show with the heads of Lennon and Nilsson replacing the puppet's heads. Puppet Lennon looks as if he is about to give Puppet Nilsson a haircut or a serious brush.

COYOTE VS ACME: The Warner Bros cartoon adaptations, after the classic era have always disappointed me, but this new movie mostly succeeds in capturing the looney in Looney Tunes with a real love for that era. The gags come fast and furious and not a basketball game in sight #CoyotevsAcme #FilmSky

KLAATU (1976) In the mid 70s, some believed that this was a secret #Beatles reunion album, such was the similarity to the ABBEY ROAD era sound. Exposed as 3 Canadians, they still pulled off some remarkable Beatle-esque tracks vocally & musically. You can't blame people for being fooled 🌞🐀🦋#MusicSky🎵

SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE 50: Surprise drop from #StevieWonder This EP commemorating 50 years since his Grammy award winning album. Four previously unreleased, unheard tracks from 1976 that have a clean live-in-studio feel to them. He was really going through a creative surge at this time. #MusicSky

LOOKIN' 4 LOVE: In 2016, #JulianLennon 's LOOKIN' 4 LUV from his EVERYTHING CHANGES (2011) album got a dance remix from electropop duo THEY KISS with additional vocals from SANDFLOWER. A COLLECTION OF BEATLES OLDIES (BUT GOLDIES) Notorious 1966 compilation of hits has a bland title, generic cover design & horrendous sound mix. Rushed out for Christmas 66 with primitive attempts to fake the stereo. #Beatles sound like they are ten feet away from the mic on some tracks #MusicSky🎵👎😯

The cover of the album doesn't feature a photo of the Beatles but is a Swinging London / Carnaby Street inspired art work. A colourful collage. The centre of which is a Beatle-ish person reclining, surrounded by various objects and scenes that create a nostalgic tapestry.

IMAGINE (2022) In response to the situation in Ukraine, #JulianLennon recorded this poignant, stripped back version of #JohnLennon 's classic. Crisp acoustic guitar backing from Nuno Bettencourt. Simple and strong. It may indeed be one of the best cover versions and one of the least heard #MusicSky🎵

Single cover is a black and white sketch of Julian Lennon's face. He has his eyes closed. The word Imagine is next to him.

KARMA POLICE (2021) I always thought that #Radiohead had absorbed some of #JohnLennon 's DNA, so a cover of this song by #JulianLennon (who actually has that DNA) seemed most fitting. Fine cover version from JL who does the song justice. Nuno Bettencourt adds some blistering guitar #MusicSky 🎵🎸👮

TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS (2020) Dennis DeYoung, the co-founder & former frontman of rock band Styx wrote this with #JulianLennon in mind, who released it as a standalone single. An unashamedly nostalgic song with an anthem-like vibe and sing-along chorus. Different but suits Lennon quite well #MusicSky🎵

HOLD ON (2017 Remix) The original song from 2011's EVERYTHING CHANGES by #JulianLennon was a perfectly fine, but conventional production. THIS ONE (1989) This 12-inch single from #PaulMcCartney is really an EP that includes 3 non-album tracks from THE FLOWERS IN THE DIRT & CHOBA B CCCP sessions. Decent tracks but no lost gems. The bluesy I WANNA CRY the highlight. McCartney had a hand in that rather unusual cover design too #MusicSky🎵

The Artwork for "This One" The cover illustration for the 1989 "This One" 12-inch single features a highly spiritual, tranquil painting. The Vision: McCartney stated that the lyrics "this one" morphing into "this swan" inspired the imagery. The Style: The painting is reminiscent of Hare Krishna posters McCartney encountered during his time in India. It depicts a little blue god (Krishna) riding a swan over a clear pond filled with pink lilies. The Collaboration: While McCartney provided the cover illustration under his pseudonym (Sri Muk Fej) the release also featured prominent photography by acclaimed jazz photographer Herman Leonard.

SEASON OF GLASS (1981) #YokoOno 's first solo album after #JohnLennon 's murder shocks you with that unsettling cover. The album itself can be a hard listen. Yoko is working through her pain, grief & memories here in a raw, heartfelt manner. You have to be in the mood but it's a fine work #MusicSky

The pair of glasses on the album cover are the same pair that Lennon was wearing when he was fatally shot. They are bloodied and sitting next to a glass of water against the New York skyline.

IN CASE YOU'RE IN LOVE (1967) Sonny and Cher's 3rd album is a mix of Bono originals and respectable cover versions. As a vocalist, Sonny was lacking, but paired with Cher, their songs together, got over the line (mostly). Highlights are his two originals LITTLE MAN and THE BEAT GOES ON #MusicSky 🎵🎸

ABBEY ROAD (1969) They may have been dissolving as a band but the #Beatles last recorded album still sounds like one of their most united and polished efforts. Listening to the 2019 remixes though. INNERSTANDING (2023) #DhaniHarrison (son of #GeorgeHarrison) delivers a challenging album that is moody, deep, introspective & a little glum. It's heavy. I can't say that I like it, but I don't want to dismiss it either. He has something to say but distorted vocals make it a hard listen #MusicSky🎵

BECAUSE ... (2025) It comes as no surprise that this #JulianLennon EP draws upon material from the 80s & 90s. There's a real 90s small indie band aesthetic to the material. Three edgy rockers and one big ballad. A marked departure from 2022's JUDE but a refreshing return to his roots #MusicSky 🎵

ULYSSES (1954) Kirk Douglas version of THE ODYSSEY may lack the narrative depth and complexity of Nolan's epic, but it's surprisingly serious and not at all cheesy. It could even be argued that its stylish set pieces have a visual flair lacking in the 2026 version. Worth seeking out #TheOdyssey 🎬
