3 things contribute to my difficulties: 1. there are multiple good, but very different, approaches; 2. none of the approaches are "obviously" correct; 3. I fixated on the most obviously correct version, but my brain adapted it to make it easier to explain (but also also breaks the algorithm).

As a CS professor, one of the things that I can never do correctly is the "partition" algorithm (part of quicksort). I can explain it at a high level to my students, but I can never implement it correctly on the first try. It has been driving me crazy for multiple decades now.

Got to see the great @imwithherband.bsky.social last night in Austin with the great @ihamerly.bsky.social. Wonderful, wonderful music.
Three singers, members of the band I'm With Her, standing on a stage. Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O'Donovan holding a fiddle and two guitars.

I don't often hear owls in my neighborhood, but I heard a loud one in my yard last night. Now I know why.

I apologized profusely, but he didn't mind. Instead, he asked his young daughter to help him eat the popcorn that had collected on his arms and shirt. Simple kindness and forgiveness.

Thanks to the kind guy at the movie theater today. My family arrived late, I sat down next to him, and he moved his drink so I could use the cupholder. Shortly after that I spilled half of my bag of popcorn on him (none on me).

Also on the bottom left you can just barely see the arm of the (terrible) couch where some people used to nap. That and the pool table were defining features for me.

Not me! I think Serge is right about Győző. It's really fun to see a photo of the lab again, I haven't seen it in many years. My old desk is hidden behind the wall, it was just below the rightmost windows. Why didn't we play more pool during those days?

Just curious, does the source of these numbers also provide any context how the *net* installed capacity has changed with those new installations? I.e. has there been any capacity taken permanently offline / retired? And if so, what types of generation are being replaced?

Shortly after this photo was taken, we hiked partway down South Kaibab until the sky opened up and started drenching us while we ran back up the trail for cover.
