et voila, the cake is finished it's really more of a jiggly pile of chocolate pudding with some nuts to hold it together than a cake. that's exactly the way I like it. 😋 #Baking #BakingSeason

step 2, Dacquoise! the layers of the cake are made from a soft nutty meringue and there are five of them. they're very un-cakey, just light and soft and a little sticky. #Baking

Pile of several handwoven towels in waffle weave. They all look like they have been pressed in a waffle iron. The towels are pink and white stripes, but the stripes can look quite different depending on the type of waffle it is, which is largely how deep the waffle cells are.

it's #baking season and we have our first spreadsheet. this is for Martin's Birthday / Belated Anniversary Garash Torte and it's going to take most of today and tomorrow. I had to make a chart to figure out what order to do things in. #BakingSeason

sometimes when I feel like bothering the cats I do the things they do to me, like sniffing them suspiciously and then pulling back with a shocked face. they smell normal but I tell them that they are stinky babies anyways.

@futurebird a filing cabinet can be locked, it can't be copied easily, it's only available in one location. it doesn't require extensive data sharing agreements. it can't be stolen because someone at a tech company leaked an API key. hard copies are inconvenient but at least they're not terrifying

3 handwoven scarves with the yarns I used to make them. The warp colors are orange, purple and light blue. The weft yarns are dark turqoise, burgundy and dark green. The scarves have the same interlocking diamond pattern with different colors merging into one another, but the overall effect of each one corresponds to its weft color.

I am an annoying perfectionist and I'm kind of bummed that these cookies are basically just grocery store cookies they're too soft and they do not chronch like my flatbois. this is 80% flour (400g vs the 500 in the recipe) and I like them more at around 65-70%.

I think the closest thing for humans is a spa where a series of people scrub you up and buff out your rough spots but the humans in the equation tend to be exploited workers and not tireless robots the problem, as usual, is capitalism

this is painfully car-brainrd of me but I think the drive thru car wash robots are one of humanity's greatest inventions. a bunch of muppets gently attack your car, leaving it shiny and clean and bubblegum-scented. delightful. I wish I could have one in my shower.
