Thank you so much for your support! GFT was founded on the basis of metal these days being too boring so I feel blessed that there are other people out there appreciate the weird stuff too 🙏

So honored to have been mentioned specifically in this interview about the Black Metal Rainbows collective, and I really wish I had the ability to play live still so I can hand out more freshly baked bread to other metal musicians! 🤘🍞 www.webzinelescribedurock.com/2026/07/itw-...

An excerpt from the linked interview that reads: "We threw a book release show at the legendary St. Vitus bar, and one of the opening acts was a woman in a solo band called greyfleshtethered. She not only blew me out of the water with her set, but she also baked a ton of bread and gave these incredible loaves out to anyone who wanted one. That small act of selflessness has stayed with me since, and it's people like her who embody joy, love, and community who deserve to be protected and uplifted at all costs."

Was reminded the other day of these 'pagan' black metal songs (very loosely using the term here) I had written in 2009 and then rerecorded in 2020 and I'm still amazed at how good they sound despite not having any outside help with recording or mastering zilocaya.bandcamp.com/album/an-aut...

As antifascist groups are getting persecuted worldwide, we need to remember that anti-fascism is not just a culture, but praxis first and foremost. We need more of this and also coming from within the metal scene. Don't let NSBM shitheads do their work in the dark; expose them everywhere.

Announcement 📢📢 My 5th album 'Aura' is now available for pre-order!!! I'm really proud of this one!

Announcement post (created by liminal dread) reading:
Vanessa dispenses her 5th album with the same grace and detail that has defined her multifoliate sound. Leaning heavy into pulse-pounding riffs and anthemic leads, this record demonstrates a streamlining of her song craft, while retaining the same adventurous spirit that makes her such a compelling artist. Leveraging all the majesty of I insomnium with the deep melancholic pathos of Dark Tranquillity, Vanessa continues to make a name for herself as one of the most exciting and passionate talents in the scene today.
Release: September 4th
Tape & CD 15$ each plus shipping

the 2009 versions are still up on the BC page but I can't in good faith recommend them, I think I'm holding onto them for the sake of tracking my growth as a musician but I can't listen to them now without cringing myself out the window

Experimenting with that recording setup for acoustic guitar parts directly influenced my approach when writing "Home Sweet Home", it was a lot of exhausting & sweaty work but at least I can feel proud of it all these years later greyfleshtethered.bandcamp.com/track/home-s...

Not to blow my horn too much here, there have just always been certain things I've struggled with when it comes to making music. I'm remembering locking myself in a stuffy attic at my parents house during the summer of 2020 to record the acoustic parts and I'm so glad my efforts ended up paying off

a riff on the IQ Bell Curve meme: at the lower end of the curve, the caption reads "ooooh scary:) why are they so angry all the time tho??"; in the middle of the curve, the caption reads "harsh vocals are as valid as clean singing and should be equally respected as another form of genuine artistic expression"; at the upper end of the curve, the caption reads "ooooh scary:) why are they so angry all the time tho??"

This will be the last time I talk about this deeply cherished godforsaken black metal musician for a while, that's a GFT promise

000

greyfleshtethered @gft.bsky.social · 27/05/2026

I'd genuinely feel content if Wintherr calls the quits after "Die Berge", it's been literal decades of work and I think his prime years are far behind him now. We as listeners will benefit for years to come with what's already been released, no need to beat this [almost] dead horse any longer imo

000

greyfleshtethered @gft.bsky.social · 27/05/2026

"Die Berge" is the perfect example of a musician who has honed their craft to perfection while losing so much of the zest that made the music exciting in the first place. Incredible productions but no real bones here, and that's ok for me personally paysagedhiver.bandcamp.com/album/die-be...

Finally hitting the end of my PdH discog run, honestly it's been a real journey because I've never sat down and committed myself to listening to all of it start to finish. Really intriguing thematic + narrative elements once you dig into it, even if Wintherr is def more than a little full of himself

Some very beautiful atmo. black metal I stumbled on recently, almost verges on melodic/epic black metal territory but for me it hits at just the right in-between spot. Love the old school vibe here, especially the distinct drum machine sound 🔥 strunkiin.bandcamp.com/album/kingdo...

I know I got chops in a lot of areas of music but when it comes to time signatures outside of 4/4 + 3/4, I feel like a complete bozo (esp. as a metal musician). I can logically parse the math and count off beats but in practice, I feel like a kid with crayons desperately trying to stay in the lines
