I love Julia's rampaging crusade against APC overclaiming but as an actuarial analyst, I had the impression that there were some genuine cohort effects that you could just read off of plots, e.g. in UK mortality improvement. But when I go look at it, it's not necessarily supremely persuasive.

There is a line of progress towards higher success rates on benchmarks (low difficulty), little progress on pokemon (slightly higher difficulty), and no progress on actual tasks (much higher difficulty). A wojak is looking at the progress on the benchmarks with an astonished face, ignoring the lack of progress on actual tasks.
