Trying to bring humans and technology together since last century. Often the "someone" mentioned in xkcd 386. he/him (Being exnominated, I don't need you to care about my pronouns. But I do care about getting yours right.) hans.gerwitz.com

Today I learned about the CSS property test-underline-offset, which lets me ensure link underlines are *just right*. I can find CSS an unholy mess, but I do love these persnickety details.

Two different takes on what histories might be relevant to our near future:
Two headlines from history “news” sources:

“Who was the best monarch in world history? 9 experts have their say”

and

“1848: The year of revolutions:
How Europe was reshaped in one calendar year”

@occlupanid.bsky.social I have encountered my first cartoniform, attached to a suspiciously-large macaroon at an upscale Amsterdam bakery. I believe this is a Redivivus imitator? It lacks the marking seen in the reference specimen, but perhaps those are regional.
It looks like Alatilatus hebechela, but is made of paper fibers.

met het oude stadskarakter in overeenstemming
Elevation of building facade from 1935. The ornamental stonework was salvaged from an 18th century building by Eelke van Houten, who said this reuse was "met het oude stadskarakter in overeenstemming"

Canada and Japan have fallen off the visa application list, it must be time to revisit.
The list of countries I've visited in the last 10 years, excluding India, required to renew a visa. There are 19, which excludes 2 I've visited but not recently.
