↪️ Dedicated guided walk and barcode mode If you want to skip the visual trials display and jump straight into data collection via barcodes or a guided walk, there are now dedicated pages for these.

🏷️ More trait data types Based on popular demand we have added multi-category traits and more customisable stepper/range traits.

📊 Better chart highlighting To better understand your data GridScore now offers more options for highlighting things like reps, treatments or specific germplasm across all charts.

🔤 Custom row and column names In some crops, what GridScore calls a row or column might be called something else. Lane and row for example or row and tree. To accommodate this, GridScore now lets you define custom names for these.

🔦 Plot highlighting You can now highlight specific plots on the main data display. The options include highlighting by reps, treatments, germplasm names and previously scored plot.

🔐 Plot and trial locking Trial owners can now lock a whole trial or specific rows, columns or plots which will prevent any further edits. This can be used to "disable" guard rows or dead plants or to mark a trial as completed.

This release also fixes issues on iOS devices where date-based traits sometimes auto-selected the current date. This is an iOS issue, but a new setting to prevent auto progression prevents this. We have also fixed issues with trait deletion and export format issues.

When exporting in the long-format, you can now include more information about each individual data point. This includes a full timestamp (rather than just the date), the position of this measurement in the set and the person who collected each data point. 3/4

Add even more information to each plot by providing treatment, pedigree or a friendly name. These provide more information to the person collecting the data. You can also assign a dedicated barcode for each plot that isn't the same as the germplasm name! This helps keep barcode tags shorter. 2/4

We've been working on a small tool for vegetation index estimation from RGB images called Spriggles 🔲 Select area of interest 📝 Export into Excel 📑 If images are taken with #GridScore, export your data straight back into the GridScore trial #phenotyping #webdev #rse cropgeeks.github.io/spriggles

A screenshot of Spriggles where an photo of a barley plot is shown. A polygon is used to select the area of interest for vegetation index estimation.

A screenshot of Spriggles showing the geometry transformed selection of the previous screenshot into a right-angled rectangle. The vegetation has been separated from the background and the vegetation index value of ~75% is shown.

A screenshot of a different barley plot showing poor emergence and very low ground coverage. The same polygon selection is made on this image for vegetation index estimation.

A screenshot of the export screen to GridScore. The trial this image belongs to has been selected and the trait "Vegetation index" is selected to export the extracted numeric values into.
