Ein großer Meilenstein für den Schutz der Ozeane! Nachdem gestern die Ratifikationsurkunde in New York hinterlegt wurde, wird das VN-Hochseeschutzabkommen (BBNJ) für 🇩🇪 am 22. Oktober in Kraft treten. Damit wird 🇩🇪 auch bei der 1. „Ocean-COP“ in Januar als Vertragsstaat teilnehmen.

#BBNJ Agreement is about to enter into force! This is a milestone for multilateralism and for the ocean. Yesterday, the Bundestag debated in 1st reading the necessary domestic legislation. With the new laws in place, 🇩🇪 will be ready to begin with the implementation right away.
