S2 is the one I feel most conflicted about because it has a lot of good ideas but I don't think they knew how to develop or use together Meanwhile S3 has a 3 episode stretch which I think is legitimately good in the middle, surrounded by boring nostalgia and some iffy (hopefully accidental) subtext

Picard is such a weird show. It's really just 3 miniseries in a trenchcoat. I wouldn't go as far as you to say that S1 is good, but it's easily the best of the three.

People forget that because, if they're put into a situation where they have to code and they're not a professional programmer, they will spend most of their time coding (usually in a iterative, trial and error way). At least, that's what happened with me every time I had to code!

That can affect things, especially if someone is completely new to Doctor Who. But, to give an anecdotal example, I know several people who tried getting into Doctor Who in the RTD era, bounce off it then, and then gelled with Chibnall's stuff. It's definitely not just one element.

So why did this happen? I don't know! I would love someone to dig into it and try to work it out; especially since Doctor Who needs to work out what it wants to be if the tendering process is a success and the show ends up coming back sooner rather than later.

I used to think that it was because Chibnall changed elements of the show to make it more like the classic seasons, but I got a lot of pushback on that opinion and in hindsight I think the criticism was right. Some things may have felt more old-school in vibe, but not really in substance.

It's that those seasons seemed to have brought in new viewers who either never watched the show or liked the classic series' but didn't like the RTD and Moffat stuff, and the majority of those who stopped were those who started watching the revival when it started and never watched the classics.

I'm not referring to the number of viewers, which went up at the start but declined over time; that happens all the time with Doctor Who, and the change in the number of people watching 'on-demand' makes it harder to draw parallels with the previous eras.

They still haven't quite got the mix right with Doofensmirtz though. He can be funny, but sometimes it just feels like he's there out of obligation. Hopefully we get more Norm the Robot and Vanessa in future, because they both give the Doof and Perry subplots a lot more to work with.

Season 1 Wrapup: It's pretty good, if uneven in places. They have a general formula and a lot of the main elements sorted early, but they hadn't worked out the little details. By the end of the season, they settled on rapid surreal humour, not taking itself too seriously, and a dash of heartwarming

Hail Doofania!: Well, they already had Vanessa fulfil the role of Candace in a subplot, so I guess they decided to mix up everyone's roles for the season finale. Doof builds a country, Phineas get confused and makes a 'Rainbow-inator' instead of a unicorn, and Perry has to wear the Cone of Shame

Out of Toon: Well, I guess Phineas and Ferb can make a cartoon. As a treat. Well, they don't do it; a bunch of computers and farm animals make it for them. Meanwhile, Doof accidentally invents a ray that makes people dance. I like that the show knows when to keep it surreal.

Comet Kermillion: Phineas and Ferb make a Giant Observatory. But, more importantly, Candace has to deal with Jeremy's devious little sister, and we get one of the best songs in the series: 'Squirrels in my Pants'. Also, Doof stole all the steaks in the Tri-State Area. I guess.

Got Game?: It's Calvinball. Well, more accurately, it's mostly rollerskating pantomime-horse badminton with a giant-foosball tiebreaker, but it's basically Calvinball. Meanwhile, Perry goes undercover as a dog. That's kinda it. Sometimes there just isn't that much to say.

The Perry and Doof subplot is as slight as usual, but it does give an excuse for a space robot asteroid fight. And I love that for once, it isn't Doof's fault that the project disappears! (Though the project does thwart the evil plan. Well, as evil as a giant robot that does shadow puppetry can be)

Out to Launch: Double-Length episode! Candace accidentally gets blasted into space by Phineas and Ferb, and they have to save her! Also, the star their dad purchased for them was actually an alien milkshake bar. This is one of the weirder premises. Also, packed to the gills with space jokes!

Unfair Science Fair Redux: Candace accidentally uses the Portal on the day before the fair and becomes Queen of Mars (with a catchy song!). Also, Perry and Doof go shopping and the baking soda volcano has the last laugh. It's clever how they made the timeline work, and there's some good jokes here.

Yeah, they're standard twitch alerts. I just wondered about the way that some standard channel point redeems take text input, but knowing that twitch turns them into plaintext as default helps calm the nerves I also use a browser source to play a YouTube vid on Sunday streams, I guess those are ok?

This is probably going to sound a bit silly, but I am going to ask anyway. I use Slime2 app version for my chat overlay which the dev confirms only passes plaintext over (and I will test to be sure). But I also use browser source for my alerts, specifically the standard twitch ones. Are they safe?

since people have been asking me about this all of the widgets I've made for Slime2 desktop simply insert user input (such as chat messages) as plain text. it does not allow those chat messages to create HTML, uses textContent to insert them instead of the dangerous innerHTML

yes, the chances of being targeted by hackers using the exploit is very small, but I am not taking that risk, and as a weekend streamer with a 10-6, I don't need to take that risk.

Well, with the OBS browser source exploit out there, I am not going to stream until it's fixed. I think they fixed it in the latest beta, but I don't know when that's going to be pushed out to the stable releases. Hopefully that'll be sooner rather than later As you can guess, I'm not super happy
