Tip for NC voter registrations: If you have a PAPER application form to submit, at this point if it is sent USPS it will count if POSTMARKED by Oct 9 deadline and received by Weds Oct 14. Go into post office and ask USPS desk clerk to hand postmark it #ncpol

Through Oct 7 NC has had 120,447 absentee requests and 24,095 voted absentee ballots, that’s 19.9% of requested ballots voted, due 7:30 pm Nov 3. Wake County received 1,292 absentee requests Wednesday. #ncpol

UNC started today (Oct 1) issuing physical student IDs on request for students who need it to vote (UNC switched to digital ID in 2023 but a court ruled it didn’t qualify for voter ID)

Wake Co Bd of Elections approved 1,671 civilian absentee ballots at 9/29 meeting, but 42 ballots rejected and new ballot packets reissued due to voter failing to seal inner envelope. well we picked a nor’easter to vacation 4 days in Boston, the rain and wind are quite something, driving rain and maybe 40 mph gusts out here at Rte 128 MBTA/AMTRAK station. Needless to say our return flight to RDU today was cancelled !

USPS Postmaster General suggests mailing back an absentee ballot SEVEN days before the election (thus mail back by Tues Oct 27) Alternatively in NC you can currently personally deliver it to the county board of elections office that issued ballot, during business hours apnews.com/article/trum...

Just mailed in a voted Wake County NC absentee ballot, I used the drop slot INSIDE a USPS Post Office. Postage is $1.98 or 3 forever stamps. Another option at this point is delivery in person to the county board of elections office that issued it, weekdays during business hours. #ncpol
