Writer of low fantasy/magical realism. My work is soft romance + dark folklore. Slightly obsessed with pre-history & European folklore. ‘There’s a nightmare in every fairytale’ was an elevator pitch.

Good morning from Yorkshire. The first few days of October were much like September until one Monday rolled around, the sky was darker, still clinging to the night. Tuesday stayed dark all day, bringing rain. Shadows no longer skittered around the edges but lurked out to stretch. I’m a writer. Hi.

Good morning, since so many of you liked me tree post yesterday I should probably let you know that I went on a deep dive into trees a few years ago. Birches are actually really good if you have poor soil, they help enrich the ground around them. What’s your favourite tree?

Good morning from autumnal Yorkshire. Did you know that the winged sycamore seeds that we throw in the air and watch spin to the ground are pollinated female fruits called samaras. In Celtic lore the trees were the ‘world tree’ one that connected the underworld, the visible present, & the skies.

Good morning from Yorkshire. Society is breaking down, the costs of living increases outpace earnings, the inequality & record profits visibly show us businesses don’t care, schools have less money than ever, we’re all tired because our nervous systems are constantly under attack from all angles.

Good morning from Yorkshire where I write dark fantasy with romance about witchy fmc’s. We’ve hit October, the sun sits lower in the sky giving beautiful golden light, lengthened shadows and earlier sunsets. Enjoy the golden realm for a couple of months. Have a wonderful Friday.

Good morning from Yorkshire where the kettle is always on, magic flows through the land, & the wind carries messages. Book 3 is reading ok on the (last?) edit. Hope your Thursday is fantastic & your plans go well.

Good morning from the dark skies of Yorkshire where the grass is wet, full of rain, and the teapot is full. There’s whispers in the village, a lifelong obsessive is determined to find out who the witch is.

Good morning from a writer in Yorkshire with a cup of tea. .Maybe your Sunday be filled with soft sheets, tea/coffee in bed, good books and a pen that writes beautifully. I hate pens that scratch at the paper & blob ink. Poor pens are what I wish on people I don’t like.

Good morning from Yorkshire where I write dark fantasy merged with romance. I hope you find a dark library haunted by a centuries old ghost with clues to a town vampire resident to spend your Saturday in. Have a fantastic day.

Good morning from Yorkshire where I write magical realism with romance . I touch on the pre history of the area as a link to the past in my work. I think it’s about time I mentioned the Starr Carr finds in Yorkshire. I’m still obsessed with it. www.stone-circles.org.uk/stone/starca...

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire where fantasy meets reality in a genre termed ‘contemporary magical realism’ but it’s hoping the shop with the innocent looking books isn’t hiding an altar in the back.

Good morning from sunny Yorkshire. The kettle is back on after an absence. If you feel that you have to look backwards or over to a corner, don’t. You’re being watched, but don’t let them know you know. Movement that catches the corner of your eyes, shadows that shouldn’t be there…

Good morning from Yorkshire. The kettle is on. Do you know what never stops giving for my books? People. When I think we’ve reached the lowest point of humanity someone else opens their mouth. Normally a religious person, or conservative politician, or both. Have a positive, witchy Friday.

Good morning from a corner of Yorkshire where I write dark fantasy with romance set right here. It’s September again & the craving has come back, to walk into lecture theatres, university libraries, to have access to textbooks & papers my library doesn’t stock, to learn for the fun of learning.

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire. The skies are slightly grey with tinges of blue, flowers are having a second wave, trees are imparting wisdom if you sit next to one and simply be patient. The kettle is on, it’s a September Monday, make it as magical as you need it to be.

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire. The kettle is on. We have a street called St Sepulchre Gate, as a & teen I devised a whole story about a hidden sepulchre underneath the city which had grown up & the gate that allowed access. & that’s pretty much how my imagination works.

Good morning from Yorkshire, the kettle is on, coffee is brewing, the quiet shift from summer to autumn is taking place in the evenings & the spiders are coming out to play. Spiders are great, they’re writers symbols, + indicative of luck & success. It’s great to see one before an exam.

Good morning from Yorkshire where there is a dark undertone to the picturesque village, but first, before we open the laptop, there’s a cup of tea in bed with a notepad to map out racing ideas and refine the structure of the last part of the plot.

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire, a corner where magic lives in the ground, dances and runs through forests and moors, and ancient feuds hold prophecies such as, ‘your descendants will wield the magic of these lands’. I always thought my imagination was too big for paper, until I wrote it

Good morning from Yorkshire, today is a day where I romanticise having a job at the local pharmacy around the corner. I’ve slept through 2 alarms, I’m having a cup of tea in bed, & I still have time to put washing in & get to work. The magic is flying around book 3, secrets, romance, egos…

Good morning from a corner of Yorkshire where Neolithic culture is a niche interest, witchcraft has been the way since I was 3yrs old and folklore was never a story but a reality, a reminder of a time much older than we remember. Have a great Sunday

Good morning from Yorkshire, there’s tea in the teapot, espresso are available, and the magic system in my books is the equivalent to a morally grey chracater. Have a great Saturday. What are you reading?

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire. There’s tea in the teapot, a black cat stalking the kitchen and the house is quiet enough to hear the whispers of the wind blowing through the trees outside.

Good morning from a corner of Yorkshire devoted to not living in the real world, a place where I mix fantasy, folklore & feminism into dark magical realism, a place where rainy days are book days, labyrinths are mystical journeys, and magic becomes alive.

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire where consent is always required in my romances, witches aren’t afraid of their sensuality, & food is for the soul. The kettle is on, coffee is ready, we’re not tolerating purity culture, censorship or control in any form. What are your Sunday plans?

Good morning from a stormy Yorkshire. Tension is building, skies are grey, perking sunlight glints off cars, take a moment to stand still on your way, breathe in, close your eyes, feel the power in the air… The kettle has boiled, lets settle in for the storm, pick your books, choose your spot…

The UK and Europe need to return fully to long-term thinking. We need governments willing to plan for 10, 20 or 30 years, not just the next election. Energy, defence, housing, infrastructure and productivity demand serious long-term strategy. #UK #Europe #Politics #Longtermplanning 1/2

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire. Imagine moving to a picturesque village with a high street full of independent shops & cafes, crossing cute bridges over a brook, & finding a hidden world of lore and strange rituals, such as pricking your finger on a thorn every equinox - a blood offering.

Good morning from a corner of Yorkshire where darkness isn’t feared but recognised as important, where we know the light cannot exist with the shadows it casts, where every action is connected by unseen threads, and an author has a dream of one small village becoming a reader’s imagined home.

Good morning from Yorkshire, a place where I’ve always imagined myths and folklore alive. The torrents of the rivers held elementals, the woods and ancient paths were walked by the fae, and the air begs us to reconnect with the outdoors….

Good morning from dark folkloric Yorkshire where pubs have real fires. Don’t open the doors when you’re down there changing a barrel, the tunnels have been blocked. The temperature will drop, something brushes past you. Don’t scream when the lights flicker, you opened the door and let it in….

Good morning from dark folkloric Yorkshire. A place where witches meet for coffee, spa & skincare is essential selfcare, and Thursdays are soft days. The espresso kettle is on, the teapot is ready, fairytales happen in the present day, but there’s nightmares encased inside of it.

Good morning from a corner of Yorkshire, the world is crumbling like rotting wood. Corporations are the Minotaur and we’re all trapped inside their labyrinths. The kettle is on, there’s tea & books, a soft trembling of the earth as the rage of ancient goddesses begins to rise.

Magic starts under a new moon. The darkness is a realm of possibilities, a place to dream & wander, paths to be formed and intent to be shaped. So ask yourself, are you chasing the nightmare or waiting for the dream? Good morning from Yorkshire with a cup of tea. How are you today.

Good morning from a corner of Yorkshire with a cup of tea. There is darkness underneath the heat, an unacknowledged longing, a thread weaving a spell unknown, and a scent in the air, sweet oranges mixed with wild marjoram. Have a great eclipse day.

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire. I wrote my dissertation on the psychology of fairytales. Fairytales that started as oral traditions were never bedtime stories, but warnings. Trauma before trauma had a name. It was never about a romance.

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire with a cup of tea. When I started writing my witch series I knew I wanted more than just witches & folklore. I wanted to combine the rawness of feminine rage with the power of old priestesses, and the abilities of legend. What’s your Sunday looking like?

Good morning from Yorkshire with a cup of tea. Magic lives in the land and the wind, each river and fen, woodland and rock has a story. I’m still editing my present day Cinderella retelling of portrait artist Tess, the third in my witch series. 1 month until it should be with the publishers.

Good morning from dark fantasy Yorkshire where the merging of two seasons has turned into a labyrinth. There are no wrong turns, only longer paths. Shadows hinder scorched roads. Eyes that can see beyond the glamor are the ones that get past the obstacles. The kettle is on. There will be pit stops

Good afternoon from a Yorkshire field. Harvest comes from the old English hærfest which actually means autumn, and in the farm calendar, harvest has already started, so we’re in autumn. Have a great day.
