Even if you use the "Standard Mode" of Stitch, the Figma export of Stitch is not as accurate as the export from @html_to_design And the layer structure of @html_to_design is much more usable. (left: Stitch export, right: html.to.design)

Georges Gomes @georgesgomes.bsky.social · 27/05/2025

Tried **Stitch** (stitch.withgoogle.com)? @googlelabs.bsky.social‬ delivers quality, clean designs. Not "AI slop" for once! But, advanced "Experimental mode" lacks direct @Figma.com export—use the html.to.design plugin instead! 😉 Here's the demo!

For a long time, users of html.to.design have been asking for a communication tunnel between our browser extension and our #Figma plugin. We always relied on a local file because it was the absolute most private solution. And we are keeping the file capture method for this reason! But now...

It's 10x better than Stackoverflow for sure. Is it really more productive in the end? A little bit. I'm curious to see how far it can go... (3/3)

😊 I'm happy when it writes boring code for me. 😒 I'm worried when it writes interesting code that I would have otherwise enjoy writing. 😔 I hate myself when it makes me lazy. 😁 I'm laughing when it writes rubbish code. (2/3)

I have been using #CoPilot on #VSCode for a few months now. It's a polarizing experience. Sometimes, the suggestions are really bad, not even type-correct. Other times, it’s mind-blowing, delivering a fully correct method in just 3 sec. And all the experiences in between. (1/3) #AI #dev #webdev

For landings and websites, you don't need React/Next/Firebase. You need great storytelling, visual enjoyment and crystal clear copywriting. And none of this is maintained by devs. The value for devs is everywhere else.

This makes me feel good about our vision with figma.to.website: fast HTML/CSS whenever possible, high-fidelity, and inexpensive. AI-everything is nice, but it's much more powerful when AI is applied in the right places to help users perfectly achieve their goals.

1. The fidelity of the result is quite poor. 2. You have to leave Figma after that. 3. You're stuck in prompts and coding forever. 4. It's quite expensive due to the LLMs token costs. 5. The result performance is low because the web pages are bloated with JavaScript and React.

v0, Lovable, and now Bolt can begin with a @Figma.com design for "vibe coding"... I've seen demos of this for websites and landing pages. I don't think it's the right approach for this use case because:

The team has been working on foreign language import for @html_to_design. Previously, the URL import was limited to American English; you had to use the Chrome extension for other languages. Rejoice, everyone! It's coming soon 🎉

I think if you provide a lot of data in the prompt, you can get a lot of the heavy-lifting done in @Figma.com for you. I noticed a few things where @html_to_design could do a better job at importing from #Claude. We are adding that in the TODO list of html.to.design 👍

Testing the new @Anthropic.com Claude 3.7 today with export to @Figma.com. I simply prompted: "Create a fancy bento-style portfolio landing page for me." I then imported the design into @Figma.com using html.to.design, allowing me to refine the design further. #DesignWithAI #AI #Claude37Sonnet
