The proper description is "glacial collapse in Nepal-Tibet," NOT "flooding in Nepal." Scientists warned about this specific glacier in meetings with government officials months before it happened. Early signals of collapse were ignored. No warning systems were in place. +1,000 people are dead.

Yes, rain over an area with PM2.5 air pollution (like wildfire smoke) will improve the air quality. The water bonds with particulate matter and brings it down in the rain. Which, in cases where there's a high concentration of SOx and NOx, creates acid rain. Welcome to living on a shared planet.
