Democrats should have made their support, contingent upon the inclusion of a tribute to the life's work and actual accomplishments of Melissa Hortman, in equal parts, to those of Charlie Kirk, drafted in a JOINT resolution. Republicans would have been forced to reject or accept THAT resolution.
