Breaking: New study using observational constraints projects that the Atlantic Ocean circulation #AMOC will weaken ~50% by 2100, even for medium emissions and without Greenland melting. 🌊 More realistic models means stronger weakening - not entirely unexpected. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

I was just told that I have to remove “climate” from the title of an ongoing grant if I want to keep it. And publications from that grant cannot include “climate” and other forbidden words. I can’t believe I’m writing this from the United States of America. #AcademicSky

Reaching net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050 currently isn't plausible. This makes not only climate action, but also adaptation all the more urgent. The Hamburg Climate Futures Outlook focuses on 9 case studies to see how well various locations are prepared for the individual challenges they're facing.
