I think Jaguar would be back to be a brand with a 2 or 3 car model range, not more. Not different to what it was decades ago.

And the more irritating ads, are the ones about other podcasts which sometimes make me confused and wondering if I accidentally chose the wrong one

For me, this is another case of "shut up and take my money". I love this Espace concept with that deep 1st gen inspiration

The other question is... how was this leaked when the reveal was supposed to be tomorrow?

The Caddy has an Interceptor aura to it which I quite like.

I quite like it, but one thing that bugs me is the shape of that charging flap

I agree. Those windows are tiny and the door is thick as a bank vault door

...I would need to spend £5k for a decent size car with a good battery like a Hyunday Ioniq. I need a bank loan and it would take me 2 years to breakeven once the monthly payments are done. But, I think I will do it once my new mortgage deal starts in March which has gone up also thanks to that T***

A few weeks ago, I made a spreadsheet to consider all scenarios and costs, including used and new cars. For my daily commute, most under £3k cars are not suitable due to Batt health and less the 100 a day (can't always charge at work) a charger at home costs £800 due to fuse board location, so...

And no other alternative than passing the costs on. I criticise people boasting about electric cars (i'm not anti EV, quite the opposite) that fail to understand that these high fuel costs are impacting everything, starting from the farmers that need diesel for the machinery to the good distribution

Yes, I am aware they are in trouble, but so as Stellantis and the Japanese although Toyota seems to be in better health, but situation is shaky in some markets.

An interesting article about something reported by a couple of colleagues but never understood why. This gives a bit of perspective on how a vehicle is driven and how the passengers feel. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
bbc.co.uk
Why electric cars might be making some passengers feel sick
Research shows there are several reasons people might experience motion sickness in electric vehicles.

The same Kemi that blasted maternity leave labelling it as expensive. People who vote for tories and reform either get a back hand from them or don't read their manifesto

Probably that owner is the same type of person that tells us to get our eyes tested when we talk about the dazzling from very bright LED light from newer cars at night.

I don't get why some Ford owners get so passionate about it. What is fine for some could be discomfort for others. Quickclear is very useful for me and a nice feature to have, but life would not be any worse without it.

My Focus MK2 is very similar in taht aspect too. Centre console with not much storage and door side pockets very narrow. Dead pedal exists but looks more like a raised bit of carpet, so it's useless

Initially the diffraction used to bother me, especially at night but I got used to it. The biggest downside of these screens is their big replacement cost and when not fitted correctly, the heating elements might not work correctly

Where I live, It's way more than just a handful of days when I de-ice both our cars at 7am every weekday during winter. We have a focus mk2 and mk3 since 2020 and the quickclear has helped not only with ice, but on humid days without having to constantly wipe the inside the screen. A/c takes longer

I love the Jag, but for every day driving and long term ownership, it has to be the W126 for me. That build quality still impresses me today

Very good point Chris. That tooling and stamping get ms worn with time and there is so much they can do to keep them going. The chinese have new tooling and more capacity so if they can do the job well, why not?

Mortgage renewal due in just a few months and the broker has two fix rate deals for us; a two year for 5.34% and 5 year for 5.16%, meaning the monthly repayments will go up by £375 at least from next year unless rates go down. How's everyone else?

I agree, and maybe cheaper than hiring a car.

Tribalism is massively widespread on most car groups, even on "sensible" car brands. Also, recently I have been seeing non car related awful posts from some car scene people... it was an eye opener and revealed who they really were and unfollowed. Thankfully none are on BlueSky.

I'm sad because I love your channel and these pricks' comments do leave a huge dent on a YouTuber's minds. As Umberto Eco said "social media gave a voice to imbeciles" or something on those lines

Indeed, I would love a 4.2 too. My uncle had a 2.8 manual in BRG from new until his passing many years ago and he used to say it went just fine but due to taxes it was way cheaper than the 4.2. Also, autobox was an expensive optional extra and the Portuguese drivers usually preferred manuals anyway

Now here is a rarity on sale in Portugal, a 1972 Series I Jaguar XJ 2.8 Manual! It's €6000, but according to the seller it needs piston rings, but it runs.

Still a lot, but not as scary as i initially read (missed the small print at the bottom regarding cars over 225g/km registered before 23/03/06).

Ok, I understand now. so the cut off is the 23rd of march 2006, which makes it £445 then.

257g/km on the dvla so that translates currently to £790 a year. yikes!
