So it's Christmas and I've been dealing all day with the announcement that they want to put an ICE human warehouse in our town. ICE racks up human rights violations and has terrorized people across the US on a daily basis. Absolutely, no thanks.

Both things are true: the protests are impactful AND the 3.5% guiding principle emphasizes more sustained action. These awareness raising events are good for morale AND we need the once a month numbers to show out more often than that. We need protests AND we need a general strike.

It's hard to argue against the fact that our current economic and political climate is a direct result of the “Citizens United” decision by SCOTUS in 2010. Politicians are no longer accountable to their constituents. They now work for the largest donors.

Don’t join GSUS thinking that’s the end of it. Our organizing requires you to be in your COMMUNITIES. Regional chapters provide support and solidarity, but they only work with YOU. A national movement succeeds at the local level. Listen to this video, then listen again. He knows what’s up.
