So #goatmire is officially over. For the final meal we all ate the goat and rejoiced. Thanks for a great time all :)

GUI apps in Elixir done right by Damir Batinović. I generated a GUI with Claude and it did a decent job. So go out and build what you've wanted to build!

I have a little side hustle that sells IoT devices. Because marketing is hard and marketing people cost more than my ARR, I decided to try Microsoft Clarity and figure out what people look for on my shop. I knew this existed, but seeing it in action really is so freakin' creepy.

I've been playing around with it quite a bit. I shelved it but now I'm going to pick it up again. Ordered a 10port usb hub to make a bigger network. I have some 60ish esps left to add 😆

I've bought these insulated Nespresso cups and I'm completely fascinated by the fact I can do this with them. Surely there is an explanation.

It's my wife's birthday. She declared it an international holiday. I agree. In attachment find your doctor's note to take the day off. In case of issues, refer your boss to my wife at their own risk.
Belgian-style medical certificate issued in Brussels by Dr. B. Irthday. The certificate declares the birthday of Christophe’s wife an international holiday and states that everyone is medically unfit for work on 14 August 2026. It includes therapeutic recommendations to take the day off, avoid work messages, celebrate, and wish Christophe’s wife a happy birthday. Official stamp and RIZIV number are shown. Marked as for entertainment purposes only.

Asked Claude to help me generate lyrics for a song for my wife's birthday. Look at this asshole lol . I just asked to add that she looks like a million bucks every day.
[Verse 2]
You've got that magic smile
That makes my whole day bright
You dress like a million bucks
Even in the kitchen light

This is prime enshittification.
Some of the ramifications of the lack of internet were unexpected. Stone's house, wired to run on solar, suddenly lost power one day. It turned out hertbattery which constantly thrawled the internet for updates had bricked when it couldn't go online.

I've built me a little cluster with AtomVM and a few ESP32s. Put a distributed work queue on it to compute primes. It's completely useless, but it's also completely fun :) (And also completely unreliable atm). The #elixirlang code and models are here: github.com/m1dnight/nan...
A green 3D-printed vertical tower made of six stacked, ventilated modules—each perforated with a grid of small holes—housing a column of ESP32 development boards, with their USB ports visible along the left edge. The tower stands on a workbench, connected by jumper wires to a white breadboard on the right. The picture also shows my workbench is an absolute mess and I should be ashamed.

I had 2 Proxmox servers at home and moved all my VMs into 1, swapped out a spinning rust raid array for an NVME array. The power consumption drop I got is quite satisfying 😍 Average of 310w to 220w, or ~400 EUR to ~300EUR annually.
Chart of the average power consumption of my server rack. Average from 310w dropped to 220w.

Okay, I've got 'em! Well one is named Afonso but wasn't really a king. This was harder than expected.
Not a king, but an Afonso nonetheless The Pedro Pedro Pedro song is now playing in your head. King Jose. Not Valim. Some less important king.
