This picture was inspired by an incident that occurred (maybe?) on the first day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, when airborne troops allegedly dropped right on top of air defenses. I really like how the TRU Cobra Infantry look with comic pack figures. They all have smaller-than-normal heads.

Compared to some of my peers in the GI Joe community, I'm not much of an army builder. Two of each troop type is usually enough for me (and sometimes a repaint as a squad leader). But there are TONS of Vipers to choose from. Here are all of mine, finally all equipped as I want them.

The other part is that I often plan photos with a year in mind, and it’s hardly ever 1998. There’s just no center to it, all too disconnected despite being good figures. They’re mostly add-ons to 97, where the Stars and Stripes or Cobra Command are good starting points

GI Joe pic of the day: Where did Techno-Vipers' snazzy purple uniforms come from? Well, once upon a time, Cobra technical specialists wore purple collar tabs and web gear flashes, to distinguish them from officers. Eventually, the Tele- and Techno-Vipers adapted this into their own uniforms.

Operation Recall is now funding YEAR 2 figures on Kickstarter! I had the pleasure of illustrating Runback's desert look (and designing the deco for the figure!) Not only is her Desert Ops figure up for grabs but I have two more concepts coming in year two - Larvae and Deadzone! More on them soon!
