If the stars align, 2026 will be my year for launching my RPG system, setting, and first Adventures. The system is written and just needs some editing. The setting just needs some organization. And my first 32 page Adventure (in homage to old TSR modules) is nearly done.

I consider the osr generally to be a unified system. Anything based on pre D&D 3.0 is pretty much compatible. And there are some great subcommunities out there such as Basic Fantasy Roleplaying Game.

I've been on a journey to come up with marketing language for my #ttrpg campaign setting The Fields We Know. I believe there is a place for it and it's adventures in the marketplace. Low fantasy, humancentric, noblebright, classic. Yet I don't think cozy is appropriate. #Fairytales are not cozy.

While the second story wood plank flooring is the newest part of the structure, it is nonetheless over a century old with continuous exposure to the elements. walking without care: 1/6 chance of falling through (thieves have advantage) Running or fighting (roll with disadvantage except thieves)

The windlass mechanism is long disabled. Each porticullis on either side of the entryway has been chained and suspended to the mechanism in the open position. An improvised bridge of felled logs replaces the long decayed drawbridge, allowing easy access into the overgrown courtyard. #TTRPG #Maps

I've been working on developing a style to represent castles three-dimensionally I always thought the isometric design of the original Castle Ravenloft was a good start. But I wanted something that was structurally sound as well This castle will be included in the current adventure I'm writing.

I have become an immense fan of minimalist but functional modular #Terrain for #ttrpgs. It's not glamorous, but how it speeds up gameplay has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. It simultaneously solves tedious mapping issues while preserving #fogofWar First floor of Castle Ravenloft.

An interesting way to get multiple use out of a cavern map is to use it as your side elevation as well as your top-down view! Here I would double the scale for the side view to get 100+ foot ceilings

Elevation is one of the things that is commonly missing in cavern maps. This is what I call a "Star Trek" cavern where the floor is perfectly smooth for practical reasons but the walls have interest.

Today I sent my players the cross-section diagram of the cavern. I've been describing to them how the system goes up and out Into darkness but explained that this is what they saw when they cast the dancing light spell against the ceiling last session Now they're more nervous than they were before!
