To anyone waiting for an email from the BSFA regarding membership, I’ve got time today to go through them so I’ll get back to you later on today. I’ve had a very busy few weeks and I am a volunteer, as are all the committee. I thank you for your patience. Stephen

A friend of mine went to Eastercon and kept sending pics of herself with people she didn’t know to her husband who kept exasperatedly explaining that they were big deal authors.

In Stephen McGowan's free SF story “Atomik Rock,” a cargo pilot intercepts music drifting through space. It takes control of his body, then vanishes. Afterward, all he wants is to hear it again. corollarysf.com/atomik-rock #SciFi #ShortFiction

What weird things do you do because of some media you experienced growing up? Here’s two. 1)I always check my shoes and behind a toilet bowl for spiders because of arachnophobia 2)I always make sure to look around when at an empty public toilet urinal because of that scene in Serial Mom

If nothing else (and there is much else), FantasyCon has helped me produce 500 new words today.

It’s how he takes the case. He knows he’s being paid more than he should be but the red flags are secondary to him wanting to know why.

It’s professionalism. My MC is offered more money, more everything to go against his agreement and ends up smashing a chair into a computer screen. He ends up completing his contract because he has to know how it ends and wants answers.

Great time moderating a panel about Science Fantasy at FantasyCon. What happens when golem meets a robot, and why can’t I stop talking about DS9? begins at 1hr 4min. www.youtube.com/live/NUdWNSe...

A point in the editing process that hurt me emotionally was that no one knows what Batusi is so I had to change to Watusi. This. This is Batusi.

Finally in Glasgow. Sitting outside the hotel and there’s the venue. Much better than the premier inn I stayed at for Eastercon. Now I medically need coffee

Been helping a student in a wheelchair a lot this week and I’ve noticed how people seem to think it's acceptable to move him without asking. Not just members of the public but bus drivers, and taxi drivers just grab, jiggle or push the wheelchair without thought or consent.

Some interesting courses this semester as an academic support worker. I’m helping students with theology, international relations, and engineering. The job doesn’t pay well but I’m fortunate to be able to sit in on these lectures and seminars.

My favourite bit of S1 of The Gentlemen is when they get Felix the cleaner to come in despite him being day drunk on his day off. Great acting by Dar Salim

First Dropfleet Commander fleet built. Now just the painting. I think my favourite ships are the Kyiv Heavy Destroyer, Vancouver Escort Carrier, and the Detroit Heavy Frigate

Played against AdMech for the first time today. Found out halfway through the game that he was the runner up of the tournament I was in a couple of weeks back (I placed 9th) and he was using the same list. Anyway I won 99-88 and it was a great game.

It’s basically because the entity of fear Parallax is in the central battery influencing the rings in small ways. If you overcome fear you overcome Parallax and since the colour of fear is yellow (like green is the colour of willpower), the yellow impurity stops working.

It is an important part of the corps that overcoming of the fear. In the series following Rebirth it was acknowledged as the way rookies get the rings to work on yellow.

Bought a bag of chillies to make chilli. Had loads left so here’s homemade mango and lime hot sauce. Not that spicy considering there’s 30 chillies in there.

About twice a month, Fran makes a big batch of chilli in the flow cooker. This week I decided to make some for the first time. A dash of black coffee, dark chocolate, dried chillies, a splash of apple juice and paprika. Her response was that if it doesn’t have tomatoes or beans it’s not chilli.

Making changes to my tournament army but this may change completely by the time the codex comes out Bye wolf guard battle leader leading the blood claws. Hello Njal leading same Bye eradicators. Hello eradicators with heavy bolters I mean Long Fangs. They’ll always be Long Fangs to me

Doing some list changes before the next time I think. Change out the Wolf Guard Battle Leader with Njal, and the Eradicators with Headtakers. That pains me but melta just isn’t what it used to be

Final placement for the 40K tournament. Much happier with the point spread, the last game especially was close with Ragnar bidding a couple of charges throughout which would have swung the game. But during the tournament I killed Calgar, both Khans, Tigerius, Dante, and Mephiston so they’re wins

I like to imagine those people who put baseball cards in their bike wheels to make a nice sound are now middle aged and cry when they look up how much those cards are worth. Like as if we weee putting first ed charizards in there.

The Vlka Fenryka are unleashed this Saturday at my second ever tournament. Made adjustments to the list including changing my main detatchment to saga of the beast slayer, combining the terminator squads into one big one, and adding some Wulfen with Storm Shields for some extra anti-vehicle.
One unit of wulfen with storm shields, one unit of grey hunters, two units of blood claws, Ragnar Blackmane, a unit of eradicators, a unit of wolf scouts, ten-man unit of wolf guard terminators,
A wolf guard battle leader, Logan Grimnar, Bjorn the fell-handed, an iron priest, a drop pod, a gladiator lancer, and a land raider crusader.

I remember walking round a WW2 POW camp museum when I was round 14 and my dad pointed at a display of the shoah and said “that’s what your Hitler did!” And I still have no idea what he meant by my Hitler. Anyway he now watches GB news.
