If I hadn't joined @labouruk.bsky.social last month I'd be filling in my membership form right now!

So now you know why I stopped writing my "apolitical" column last month! All entirely my own decision.

It's time to get back on social media now I've given up my radio and news columns. I stopped those because I decided to join the Labour Party which has the positive vision to improve life in this country - and I hope to be able to use whatever skills I have to help the party in future campaigns.

You know what they say? One language, two cultures!

Of course the residents of Suffolk will ultimately have no say in this - it's all down to ministers (inc PM). But I can't help feeling it will be economics (ie lowest cost) rather than politics that decide it. www.eadt.co.uk/news/2545095...

What is the point of this? Jack's campaigning zeal on this is admirable but he knows his government has scrapped the plans for the A12 upgrade in Essex and A47 upgrade near Peterborough which were fully planned out - if they can't be built what hope is there for this? www.eadt.co.uk/news/2533750...

Congratulations to @eddavey.libdems.org.uk for calling out @bbcnews.bsky.social for their failure to call out Farage's lies and mistruths on Breakfast news today. Their failure to challenge Farage's racist and climate views over the last year has contributed to party's surge in polls.

Most of my friends know I'm no lover of Budgies - but there are some things that look absolutely magnificent in Green and Yellow. There's one of them here! www.flickr.com/photos/79932...

Day 2 of retirement. After finishing my EADT career at Bure Valley Railway, starting g my new life at North Norfolk Railway diesel extravaganza Rails and Ales. Anyone see a pattern developing?

What are they thinking? Suffolk County Council has a fine reputation on minority rights but this looks like they've been nobbled by the Tories' culture warriors. What a shame! www.eadt.co.uk/news/2522145...

News @bbcbreakfast.bsky.social showing its Manchester roots today. Totally ignored discussion about new Oxford-Cambridge corridor to spend the whole time banging on about rebuilding Old Trafford!

Didn't have great hopes for @ipswichtown.bsky.social today, but I had hoped that @lfcr.bsky.social would have the decency to open the scoring against us with one of the many of their players I have in my Fantasy League team!

Farage's comments about immigrants making it more difficult to see a GP is outrageous. When did he last see an NHS GP? Without immigration they'd be far fewer GPs, far fewer hospital doctors, far fewer nurses and healthcare assistants. Then we'd all be really stuffed!
