#My9Games Shoutout to my digital logic class in college where everyone started looking at each other when the professor started talking about comparators like “wait the Minecraft block is a real thing???” Genuinely owe my engineering skills to growing up with that game

Who remembers the Pokémon Dream World? The service ended on January 14th, 2014, but a group has been doing their best to restore it. If you ever used the Dream World, and still have that same working PC/Laptop or hard drives, please read this! projectpokemon.org/home/index/a...

Help awaken the Pokémon Dream World!

On January 14th, 2014, the dreams of Pokémon Trainers all over the world were lost. This was the day that Generation V's 'Dream World' was shut down for good. For those unfamiliar, the Dream World was...

That all being said- PTGB is still moving forward of course. I’m devastated that the coolest aspect of it has been slashed (at least for now, hopefully the community can figure out something), but there’s still something to be said about linking Gen 1/2 to Gen 3 to have them reach 5/6/7.

This… sucks. Like even after thinking about it for an hour, I can’t think of any other way to say it. It just plain sucks. I’m so sorry it has taken so long to get Poke Transporter GB up and running to what we want it to be. We have so many cool ideas for the future. I thought we had more time.

Took a break from Splatoon Raiders to do a little more Safari hunting- and I’m glad I did!! Found my first *ever* Safari Zone shiny, RessesPuff the Natu after 1638 encounters!!

The Gears of Progress @gearsprogress.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Got 1200 encounters done tonight before I had to call it- hoping I can find some more time to hunt before Safari Week ends! Very rude of Nintendo to release Splatoon Raiders the same weekend as Safari Week smh my head

If you’re multi hunting in 8192 and 4096 games at the same time, do you increase your count twice for the 4096 game since it has twice the odds Like I have 8 8192 games and 2 4096 games- do I increase my counter by 10 or by 12? 🤔🤔🤔

I’ve caught the shiny hunting bug again, whoops- would anyone be interested in a livestream that’s shiny hunting + Transporter GB development? I’ve got a bunch of game revisions to test for PTGB v1.3.0, a Safari to Zone, and some HGSS starters to soft reset for 🙃

The Gears of Progress @gearsprogress.bsky.social · 20/07/2026

(Still trying to stay off social media to avoid leaks BUT) Shiny hunting friends- what do you usually use to count encounters when you’re out and about? I really want to start getting into hunting here and there, but it’s inconvenient to have to use my phone as a counter

The Gears of Progress @gearsprogress.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

Well, it’s that time of the release cycle again where I (attempt to) jump off of social media to avoid spoilers for the upcoming Pokemon games I will absolutely be back to announce PTGB releases and stuff (maybe even sooner than you’d think), but if I don’t reply to stuff, that’s why! 🫡

I made shiny hunting better in all of the mainline Gen 1 games through the power of glitches! You can shiny hunt wild Pokemon! You can see a wild mon's sparkles! And you can see if a Pokemon is shiny on the summary screen! No mods or patches required :> More info: github.com/aestellic/BB...

The urge to make a Python tool for converting images into Bluetooth controller inputs for Tomodachi Life’s drawing tool is *so* strong but the image drawing optimization algorithms sound horrible to have to figure out (and I already have like 3 projects already whoops) BUT IT WOULD BE SO COOL

I’m a day late, but I hope everyone had a great Pokémon day! The future of the series seems bright, especially with that 2027 release date!! I’m so excited to share all the progress the team (yes, team!) has been making on Poké Transporter GB- we’re just not *quite* ready yet. (1/2)

Took a small detour from FRLG on Switch today to see if I could implement a complete randomizer on cart via ACE. Success! I intend to complete the National Dex entirely using this method on a single cartridge on stream Soon™

SO UPDATE Apparently there is now a Wiki(?) page about Poke Transporter GB on AliExpress and it’s… something! I was going to make a thread going through everything that’s wrong about it but genuinely I don’t think I can. To part of the video it becomes!! www.aliexpress.com/p/wiki/artic...

So I may or may not have gotten curious and bought that version of PTGB that’s on AliExpress 😬. I won’t lie, it’s very surreal seeing something I made on a cartridge that I didn’t make myself. Should I make a video talking about it? Or would that bring more attention to a bootleg of my own program?

Just finished ZA, and I gotta say- I did not expect to like it as much as I did!! I *didn’t* appreciate that the Megas leaked beforehand, and I’ve already accidentally spoiled some of the DLC stuff for myself. Time to go MIA again until the DLC drops- woo see yall in February 🙃

I’m very excited to say that I’ll be adding my good friend Malamar to version 6.8.7 of PTGB! This has been a long time coming, and many many months of work have gone into making this possible. Also Fennel has been replaced with Malamar and the program has been renamed to Malamar Transporter GB 🦑👍
