i think car brands should try new things, and I understand the aesthetic and fashion-like market and clientele that Jaguar is courting. I genuinely like the way it looks inside and out. I wish Jag hadn’t taken my phone for the reveal in the UK, it’s so good looking from the rear 3/4 will it work?

I know some of the English-speaking Chinese media didn't like the (Chery) iCar V27 because I guess its off-road chops are very mediocre compared to similarly priced competition, especially on those low-profile rims... ...but I really like this design a lot!

also, although Chinese brands are making deep inroads into Europe, I think the apocalypse is overblown on some levels. Cars like the Renault 5 and Kia EV3 tell me that Europeans are open to electric cars when they’re priced right and actually good. VW group still sells the most EV things in Europe.

BYD, Chery, and sometimes Geely are really speed running entering markets (sometimes too quickly), I think brands like Nio actually move too slowly. Firefly’s rollout has been slow, while Nio’s European lineup is pricy and not in lockstep with what it’s doing at home, and they’re slow to fix it.

i think about this deeply. every other EV is canceled. we can’t have chinese ones. it’s too hard to get at-home solar panels deployed en masse. EV charging infrastructure is still a mess. also, the economy is in shambles so buying a car of any type is expensive and terrifying
