didn’t anticipated being emotionally suckerpunched in the gut today. Far from the first holocaust place of memory I’ve been to, but it was the quote about the smell that got me. Oma didn’t talk about it much because it pained her a lot, but she told me the same thing. Missing her a lot lately

still thinking about this creature entry at the Walla Walla Fair. she nailed it, that is indeed a creature

creature entry into the fair. The creature competition requires the use of produce to create a creature. The creature’s body is a pineapple, it’s eyes appear to be the base of stems of carrots. Its teeth are haphazardly hot glued corn kernels, with no lips or other indication of a mouth. It wears a hula skirt of wilting kale. It’s arms and clawed feet might be sweet pepper sticks? They’re shriveled so it’s hard to tell.

The presence of teeth and lack of mouth indicate that it does not eat but does attack. Its hula skirt indicates that it loves to party and dance. The skirt and teeth and sending mixed signals, so it’s best to keep your distance and say hello from afar or across from walls.

It is both mortifying and beautiful. It won a first place ribbon, deservedly so.

my aunt asks me if I want this quilt top my great grandma made like 50 years ago and said “it’s a little ugly”, and then she sends me this?????

quilt top that smells kinda bad because it’s at least 50 years old spread over my couch. Its pattern is alternating Sierpinski triangles and large white blank triangles. The triangles are clearly inspired by the late 60s early 70s color palette, with a majority of the patterned fabric containing flowers. Baby is dumbfounded and now I guess I’m gonna have to buy a sewing machine because no way in hell am I hand quilting this stinky bad boy
