My main hangup with this vs theme vote is just the fact that, Sol vs Asuka, which is probably the favored to win, could easily happen regardless, meanwhile something surprising like Bridget vs Unika probably wouldn't. I rly wish Sol vs Asuka was confirmed with the other 4 prior..

I didn't share here but I got Bridget to Vanq abt 2 weeks ago, and Unika yesterday. I played my first Vanq session yesterday and I was ready to be 1300, but my Bridgets actually stuck around 1500 for now which made me really happy but it made the Unika fall hurt way more lol 🥲 I wanna work with her

🧵 My case for Bridget vs Unika being a good choice in the GGST versus theme vote, cuz the more I think about it the more I really want it

This probably isn't going to be organized. I just want to get a bunch of concepts down about how a Bridget Unika versus theme would most likely go. I'm hoping to win more people over to the idea, because the more I think about the possibilities, the more it would mean to me if it happened.

Unika as a character is mainly a foil to Sin, Sin being a young person who can never know the darkness of the past he was born after, despite his heritage being incredibly important. Unika on the other hand has basically lived through it all over again, those memories are still with her and they inform the urgency with which she races towards her current goal which is repenting for her mistakes while being under Nerville and working to ensure his ideology doesn't re-arise. She's very hard on herself because she knows the world will be too. Sin is of course there for her, the empath that he is.

Bridgets character revolves around her identity and how she decides to live. Her choice to accept herself and live as a woman in Strive is finally her own choice, not based on any outside factors but on her own internal happiness and comfort. She didn't make her choice all alone though, she was afraid of what might change in her life but she was helped by Ky and Goldlewis to find her courage. She pays that kindness forward in Dual Rulers when she helps Unika on her own path, so I think a song about the two of them would focus on continuing that dynamic.

Honestly there's a good amount of overlap with the potential themes for Sin vs Unika and Bridget vs Unika. I prefer Bridget vs Unika for several reasons, but I wanna preface that I love Sin very much, all three of these characters are most likely in my top 5 characters in the series.

Obviously Sin and Bridget have both been integral to Unika's story and will absolutely continue to be. I think Sin vs Unika feels like the more obvious option, like duh the two new protagonists of course it makes sense to continue the tradition. That's why I think it would be unique if it was Bridget vs Unika. I don't really think it would be snubbing Sin, Bridget is definently just as important as he is to Unika, and I think overall there's more chances to develop Sin and Unika together, for instance whenever the next big story arc happens. Sin also already has a versus theme with Ky. Bridget and Unika already have a lot of content together and I think adding an exploration and development of their relationship through song would be a great addition to that collection. Bridget vs Unika would be the first girl vs girl theme in the series (besides the confirmed Ram vs El theme coming) and also comes with the potential to bring another Naoki-Aisha duet. I think the contrast between their sounds has merit for depicting a narrative using instruments.

I was 8 years old and in California 25 years ago. The main way 9/11 impacted me at the time was that from that moment on, the news was ALWAYS on. I thought it was stressful, and my dad would rant to me in the car about political stuff. We wrote cards for people who had been impacted at school.

I think I've made good progress with Unika this week and especially today, I'm probably closing in on where I am with Bridget I managed to keep diamond 3 back when I reached it with Bridget so now I'm falling in and out of it with Unika enough for both of them lol
