Messier 27, the Dumbbell Nebula . a famous planetary nebula located in the constellation Vulpecula. Discovered by Charles Messier in 1764, it was the very first planetary nebula ever identified #astronomy #astrophotography #photography #space #nebula #galaxy #deepspace #astro
Centered in the frame is the glowing, hourglass-shape of the nebula. It features a bright blue-green core wrapped in a delicate, reddish outer ring of hot. The nebula is set against the blackness of space with countless stars.

A female Banded Demoiselle damselfly #photography #wildlife #nature #naturephotography #ukwildlife #wildlifephotography #macro
This image features a detailed close-up of a female Banded Demoiselle damselfly perched on a cluster of tiny white flowers

The damselfly has a vibrant, metallic green body that appears to shimmer. Its large, dark compound eyes are prominent on its head, and its long, slender legs are dark and covered in fine, hair-like bristles that help it grip the flowers. The wings extend backward along its body and are largely translucent with a subtle green or pale brown tinge.
The damselfly is resting on a dense, umbrella-like cluster of small, white petaled flowers

Messier 13 (M13), or the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules, is one of the most prominent and spectacular globular clusters visible in the Northern Hemisphere #astronomy #astrophotography #photography #space #nebula #galaxy #deepspace #astro
A dense, glowing ball of light with countless individual stars radiating from a brilliant, highly concentrated core.
The cluster contains hundreds of thousands of stars visible as pinpoints of light in shades of white, blue, and orange-red.
The cluster is set against the dark expanse of deep space, peppered with more distant and sparser field stars

This is my image of the Rosette Nebula, a massive star-forming region located approximately 5,000 to 5,200 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros. #astronomy #astrophotography #photography #space #nebula #galaxy #deepspace #astro
Shape: It has a circular, floral shape with a hollowed-out center, which is why it is commonly called the "Rosette". Some observers also refer to it as the Skull Nebula due to how the gas is carved.
Colors: The glowing orange and red areas are primarily made of hydrogen gas. The blue and white sections in the center represent other gases, like oxygen, being pushed away by young stars.
The Center: At the very heart of the nebula is a cluster of bright, young stars

The Jellyfish Nebula! Formed 30,000 years ago when a massive star exploded as a supernova, the material that the star was made from — plus new elements forged in the extreme temperatures of the explosion — blasted outwards! It took 5000 years for this light to hit my back yard in Victoria, BC :)

See those 4 tiny stars right in the middle? That's the 'Trapezium Cluster' at the heart of the Orion Nebula. I used several short exposures (5-seconds) to preserve Orion’s luminous core. I thought it would be cool to capture a shot like this as a nice 'send off' to Orion for another year. 👋

A group of several bright, hot, blue stars surrounded by a soft, ethereal blue glow - a reflection nebula, caused by interstellar dust reflecting the starlight. This picture shows a close-up of a Common Kingfisher. The bird has vibrant plumage, featuring brilliant blue on its back and head, and rich orange on its underside and chest. It has a long, sharp, dark bill with a reddish base to the lower mandible. A white patch is visible on its neck.
The kingfisher is sitting on a horizontal, moss-covered branch. The background is a soft blur of dark, vertical branches and muted natural colours

Widefield image of Messier 33, the Triangulum Galaxy, a face-on spiral galaxy about 3 million light-years away, known for its prominent star-forming regions. #astronomy #astrophotography #photography #space #galaxy #deepspace #astro
The galaxy has a bright, whitish core that fades into expansive, swirling spiral arms. These arms are predominantly a mix of blue and purple hues, indicative of star-forming regions and hot, young stars.
Details: Within the spiral arms, several brighter patches of light, which are nebulae (HII regions), are visible. The background is filled with countless individual stars, providing a sense of depth and scale to the cosmic scene.
