The Night House, dir. David Bruckner. 2020. Rebecca Hall is superb in this supernatural horror. Well shot and includes some cool visual ideas and displays of magic. A slow burn but the tension makes for some genuinely creative jump scares of which there are many. This is a favourite moment. #IYKYK

Process: Thumbnail SKETCHES and LAYOUTS first in biro at A4 on copy paper. Then PENCILS with a brush pen as a first INK pass at the same size. Once tweaks are done I print a BLUELINE for INKS at A3 on 250gsm smooth Bristol Board. COLOUR is done digitally by Yel Zamor @stillwintercraft.bsky.social

I'd never seen this Roy Lichtenstein painting before, but it's incredible how he manages unfailingly to make his copies worse than the original comics he's ripping off.

Wow. LOISH got accused of using Ai to make her art. I started following her on early deviantart. I remember first seeing her paintings in college. This is ridiculous, no one is safe. Artists Ive followed for actual decades are getting harassed because their work has been stolen and regurgitated.

When I was very, very young I found out that trains would expel or drop their toilet waste on the tracks on route [hence the do not flush in station signs] and this fact genuinely made me fear that airplanes did the same over certain routes. Living near an airport terrified me. #DontLookUp

Backrooms, dir. Kane Parsons. 2026. Well, that was an experience. Unbearable tension and a genuine anxiety/disorientation when in the backrooms. Loved the build up but undecided about the turn and 'ending'. Definitely an A24 film. Beautifully shot, intriguing concept, tremendously raw performances.

So, last night I needed to access old files on one of my external SSDs. Used three different USB-C connectors and nothing showed up. Windows didn't even see the drive. Read online about the need to check the drives routinely and not leave them sitting unplugged for months on end. Begin to panic. 1/
