Sorry, can't resist one more Barry Lyndon comment. Rosenman said Kubrick suprisingly wanted something like the "Godfather" theme(!) as the recurring motif. Something grand and sad. Ros. said that's ridiculous, plus totally out of period. Then he showed him what he could do with the Handel melody.

He basically created out of that simple motif his own work of neo-baroque music. It has been reused & sampled so much since, that people don't realize Handel never wrote it that way! And it's arguably a big reason for the film's lasting power. If you've seen it, you can't forget that theme. 2/3

Rosenman's work on Barry Lyndon may seem to be just selecting pre-existing classical music, but his contribution was much more profound. The main theme of the Handel Sarabande is his own completely original arrangement, expanding a simple instrumental piece into a powerful orchestral statement. 1/3

Between October 2025 and July 2026, the U.S. accepted 10,258 refugees. All but three (3!) were white South Africans. Regardless of your opinion of South Africa's laws and government, I don't know how you could call this anything other than an explicitly racist policy.
