I feel conflicted about the Lanterns finale. It didn’t feel like a finale. It didn’t serve as a climax. It was easily the slowest episode of the season, which feels like an odd choice for a finale. But I think it had several good scenes and I like what they did with John’s character.

The 7YO: “I thought we were gonna watch Wild Robot?” Me: “We are. This is just an ad we have to watch before the movie.” 7YO: “I don’t like ads. I don’t want to watch them.” Me: “Me either, buddy. Me either.”

I’m willing to bet if a company made “there is no AI in our product” central to their marketing, their business would boom. All these companies pushing AI and almost no one wants it. I’m so tired of opening an app and seeing AI features, especially when non-ai tech can do the same things.

I just saw the quote from Macklemore about being dropped from a tour for speaking out about Palestine: “When one side has the bombs and bottomless financial and military support from America, refusing to take a side doesn’t leave you in the middle.” Incredible.

I already couldn’t stand corporate speak, but AI induced corporate speak is so much worse. I’ve heard “and the quiet part nobody is saying out loud” at least four times in the last two days at work and I want to rip my hair out.

Exactly. Additionally, it makes it feel like the person you’re talking to can’t bother to put a tiny bit of effort into communicate with you for a moment, which feels insulting.

It's hard to commit to reading something that you're not even sure the sender proofread. It's hard to even make the effort to send a reply because they might just ask AI to summarize it and miss important details or context. A complete communication breakdown.

Watching Outlander has made me realize how much Game of Thrones wasted Tobias Menzies on such a minor role as Edmund Tully. He’s an incredible actor and should have been cast as someone with more screen time.

Meta just paid the lowest effective federal tax rate in its history. Thanks to tax breaks and loopholes, it avoided $13.7B in 2025 federal income taxes. But now it's planning to lay off 10% of its global workforce (8,000 people) by May 20 — with more job cuts later this year. Trickle down hoax.

It tells things.

In an age of creeping relativism, a universal moral law still exists. Threatening to end an entire civilization of 90 million people in order to bend a nation’s conduct to your will is grossly morally wrong. It is evil. And we should say this loudly.
