The fourth week of the NFL regular season began with the Cleveland Browns edging out the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-24. We'll discuss the coverage from that broadcast later. On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts beat the Washington Commanders 30-13 in London. Baltimore edged out Tennessee 24-18 despite Lamar Jackson's injury. Drake Maye bounced back and helped the Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills 29-26.

Week 5 officially started Spooky Season in the world of sports. Top-ranked teams, beware! Florida, after a big win against Ole Miss, sputtered against Missouri. Texas Tech beat Colorado 29-7 after trailing 7-3 at halftime. USC survived 25-21 against unranked Washington. Miami dominated Clemson. Kentucky and South Carolina went down the wire, with Kentucky edging out South Carolina 35-34 in overtime.

Week 3 of the NFL regular season kicked off with the Atlanta Falcons dominating the Green Bay Packers by a score of 35-14. In the early window, the Los Angeles Chargers fell 24-16 to Buffalo despite forcing five turnovers and 10 penalties. Cleveland edged out Carolina by three points. Indianapolis beat Houston 19-17 to keep Houston winless. The Jacksonville Jaguars dominated the New England Patriots 35-6.

Week 4 of the college football season was another crazy one. Iowa delivered karmic retribution with a stunning win against Michigan as the clock expired. In the west, Oregon had a bounce-back performance against USC. There were six matchups between top-25 teams. Mississippi State got its first win in a matchup between two AP-ranked teams since 2014. The Bulldogs beat 19th-ranked Missouri 31-24.

The offenses came back down to Earth in Week 2. The second week of the NFL season began with the Buffalo Bills defeating the Detroit Lions 41-31 in a game that wasn't as close as the final score suggests. Most of the early slate saw teams struggling to surpass 24 points, except for Carolina's 34-point outburst against Atlanta. The Chicago Bears lost 9-3 to Minnesota, and the offense struggled prior to Caleb Williams' injury.

Week 3 of the college football season delivered once again. The North Carolina State Wolfpack inexplicably lost on a fumble in the end zone as time expired. Meanwhile, the game between Ole Miss and LSU was an instant classic. Houston and Texas Tech went down to the wire, but Texas Tech survived 28-26. Kentucky upset Texas A&M, who was ranked ninth.

The first week of the NFL season offered drama and plenty of scoring. The NFL season began Wednesday night with a Super Bowl rematch between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. Unranked Oregon State scared Texas Tech, leading 24-21 early in the fourth quarter before Texas Tech ultimately won 35-24. Michigan bounced back and beat Oklahoma.

The 2026 NFL season is officially here with Wednesday Night Football. It is a Super Bowl rematch, as the defending champion Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, in the NFC North, the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, and Green Bay Packers could all win the division.

Week 1 of the College football season delivered chaos and controversy. Despite what some may have felt was a lackluster slate because there weren't marquee matchups, the first week of the season was great. Michigan was ranked 16th entering the season and was on the verge of getting upset by unranked Western Michigan. Someone, somewhere, found one more second to put on the clock, and Michigan survived 13-12.

College football is back today. We no longer have Saturdays with no football. Eight games are on the itinerary, as Week 0 is not a full slate of action. North Carolina takes on TCU in Dublin at 11:00 a.m. to kick off the season. USC hosts San Jose State at 2 p.m., then Virginia hosts North Carolina State at 2:30. North Dakota State hosts Jacksonville State at 4:30, as NDST makes its leap into the FBS.

The Pac-12 is back. For two seasons, Washington State and Oregon State were a two-team conference, functioning as the remains of the Pac-12. This season, six programs are joining the Pac-12, making it an eight-team conference. Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State, and Utah State are joining the Pac-12 from the Mountain West. Meanwhile, Texas State joined from the Sun Belt Conference.

The SEC used to have an obvious claim to be the best conference in college football, but the Big Ten has staked its claim to that title by winning the last three national championships. I'm sure the championship drought won't slow the conference's politicking about strength of schedule as the regular season nears its end. The SEC instituted a nine-game conference schedule for the season.

The Big 12 headlines have been dominated by the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the past year. Tech won the Big 12 and earned a No. 4 seed in the College Football Playoff before Oregon dominated them in their first playoff game. Tech made headlines in the offseason when its transfer-portal quarterback, Brendan Sorsby, was ruled ineligible for gambling violations. …
