recently watched a playthrough of mr. bones for the sega saturn with some friends and we found this magazine ad when looking for marketing materials for the game. ads were different back then dude

the quoted image of clouds in the sky looking like a skeleton that is "honking off", with edits atop it to appear like a two-page magazine spread. in the bottom left is a blurb that reads "Check out the monstrous mr. Bones Video Game, available only on Sega Saturn.". In the top right is another blurb, "get your bone on." in the "got milk?" font. and at the bottom right is another blurb that reads "the most action packed skeleton adventure is coming to sega saturn this fall. can you survive the bone-tickling terrors that await? mr. bones. fall 1996. sega saturn."

It's funny how, despite my love for high-intensity games like Team Fortress 2, Marvel Rivals, Helldivers 2, etc, my favorite game is still Deltarune.

a recreation of the "mr. worldwide" meme (pitbull holding the earth in his hand with the text "mr. worldwide" in the background), but in pitbull's place is balan wonderworld holding a globe in his hand, with the text "mr. wonderworld" in the background instead

Y'all should play Far Far West. It's like a mix of Helldivers 2 and Risk of Rain 2. You're magic-slinging cartoon steampunk-ish cowboy robots shooting hoards of skeletons as you blast open access to a boss, kill said boss, then rush on horseback to extraction as skeletons endlessly chase you. Is fun

Why is it that trying to interact with the enemies at little as possible is the only somewhat fun method of playing difficulty 7+ in Helldivers 2? If I wanted to do that I'd play GTFO. Adding timers to non-Blitz missions a mistake from the beginning.

With how universally hated interrupting video ads are nowadays, you'd think companies would've dropped them in favor of less jarring advertising methods. I wouldn't want my product to have negative associations via interrupting someone's fun. It's kinda baffling.

yall ever wondered what the lusty joker from #balatro looked like as a full-ass person? here u go #art #myart

a full-body interpretation of the "lusty joker" card from Balatro, which is a jester dressed in a red suit and light red pants with a heart pattern, and with horned shoes that have little hearts on the tips of the toes. he's posed leaning forward towards the viewer. next to him is a cropped screenshot from better call saul of the main character, jimmy, leaning towards the camera.

Ideally, I'd want it to be a 3d animated series, but that'd take too long to get off the ground, so I'd settle for starting smaller with a comic/manga format.

010

Garoam @garoam.bsky.social · 11/02/2025

If I were to start a comic series while I have mediocre drawing skills, would many people care to read it, or should I wait until I'm more confident in my ability to draw? The comic would be a half-adventure, half-combat style story in a magic-based medieval fantasy setting.
