One of my favourite butterflies is the Richmond birdwing butterfly (Ornithoptera richmondia). It's a beautiful butterfly but, like many butterflies, it has only one host plant that its caterpillars can eat - Birdwing Butterfly Vine (Pararistolochia praevenosa). www.abc.net.au/gardening/ho...

The strip garden is 10m long (80cm wide) so my plan is plant in 50cm intervals. I'm going to be planting a range of native grasses and the occasional anigozanthos plant (kangaroo paws). I've always wanted a native grass garden, so I can't wait to plant this garden 😀 #GardeningGoblin #Gardening

The next area in the front yard I plan to work on is this one. First, I'm going to remove all the white stones. Then, I'm going to plant a HEAP of succulents and cacti. It gets a lot of direct sunlight from sunrise until about 3pm in the afternoon, so it should work well. #GardeningGoblin

I noticed a black circle in the front yard and cleared some grass and dirt away and found a sprinkler head. So I looked around and found a tap connected to a pipe. Turns out we have sprinklers in the front yard too! I turned them on and then dug about in the grass uncovering them. #GardeningGoblin
