It’s basically a parody horror that takes itself very very seriously. As I recall, the turbines hypnotize people and make them kill each other, but it’s been a while, so that might be a little off.

One part examination of a young married couple whose relationship is always on the verge of falling apart and one part observation of a entire community of a poor French fishing village. Very sad, touching and sweet. A great first effort from a director who would become a legend. 3.5/5

This was a great film about pressure, hubris and psychotic levels of ambition. 4/5 PS: Spoiler I love that Rob got his own Pazuzu type entity to follow his psyche around.

Other than a few beats here and there, this film is played very seriously. Even the monster isn’t a monster, but a guy dressing up to run people out of his area of the jungle. I would have enjoyed this much more if it was just a little bit silly. 2.5/5
