Checking out the new github launcher for re-compiled games. Hooked up the #N64 controller, loaded up PD and did a quick run through the first level. Setup wasn't bad. Controllers are always a pain to map. But I'm looking forward to the future of this launcher

Today's project. Fix an #SNES. I bought a broken one on eBay "doesn't turn on" to fix another one that needs a CPU Well, this one only needed an .80 cent fuse😆 I had an extra RGR shell so I slapped that on. I still need to clean the switch and recap the board

My contribution to the retro gaming community was this picture about setting expectations. You can't expect emulator quality picture out of a 240p console that added smearing in 3 different ways, it's just not happening. If you can accept that, you'll be very happy going deeper into this hobby.

#n64 Hispeedido kit installed and working. The solder job isn't really photo worthy but no bridging and solid connections. This console also has the #Voultar RGB mod that I put in previously.

I don't need another #n64 HDMI kit but I want more fine soldering practice. I also criticize the Hispeedido kit so I figured the best way to have a solid opinion is actually use one. Many say this is a $40 kit. With tax and shipping it's more like $60. Add the $10 3D printed mounting kit $70

When some people talk about game prices and they always reference these old ads showing that prices were just as high. I was there, some prices were but it was very short lived. Especially when the PS1 came out, priced dropped big time. Also, the most egregious ads were Canadian prices.
