This is where personalised genAI art falls flat. I think part of what motivates people to engage with art is about connecting with others. If not for connecting with the artist, but for connecting with friends, coworkers, and online communities. People bond over art, over SHARED experiences.

We have a group chat for trans people in my small city. We use it to provide ride shares, lend tools, organize events, monitor ICE, etc. Just lent a drill to a gal I've never met, for a woodworking project. The world would be a different place, if more people in more cities organized like this.

Met a polish man after buying something from him off Facebook marketplace. He & his family were moving back to Poland, saying he didn't feel safe after the racist Belfast riots. Goes to show the chilling effect from the racism and violence is very real, and will worsen NI's decades-long brain drain.

What I like best about the Artemis II photos is that it was taken by actual humans. An actual person had to frame it and manually adjust settings. It's their own artistic rendition of what they thought looked best at the time, something no probe, rover or unmanned spacecraft can take. it's art
