Skydance over Paramount and Warner Bros has got to be the worst name change on recent media company history that I have ever seen.

And thus today, #WyldePak aired for the final time on #Nickelodeon Global Unlimited. I haven't bothered to rewatch much of the show since it wrapped up, but it will none the less be a shame to see this show go away from the channel. Goodbye, Wylde Pak.

I will say this: Going indie is a good idea atm, but it shouldn’t be a permanent solution. Indie has its own set of problems and we need to make an effort to fix what’s wrong with mainstream media instead simply boycotting it.

Had I not already spent 2 sus🖋️sions talking about it AND made a promise not to watch what I say from now on…I’d definitely have some choice words for this whole Skydance thing. I’ll just let others braver than me say it and repost that when I see it.

it's worse this time around in plenty of ways because it's influenced by the current administration but this kind of thing just signals more buyouts and come ten years i expect it to get a lot worse and a lot more chaotic. thanks for nothing, Gavin Newsom. hope this was worth your floundering career

Warner Bros. itself has infamously been bought out by several companies already and it's never gone well. that hasn't stopped the execs from walking out of these burning experiments with billions of dollars and another private yacht for the collection each time.

whether or not Skydance-WB survives doesnt matter to me. all this does is signal to me that we're in for an era of buyout after buyout with stricter rules on art with each, until all that's left is one controlled corporation with several "brands" that all produce super safe homogenous "content"

Call it coping but I always have the mindset that within these companies have so many talented and passionate film makers, crew members and more. And while i know it may look bleak, I just will never give up on media like that after so many years

Uh... To have a good time? Because Walt Disney specifically envisioned Disneyland to appeal to goers of all ages, compared to other amusement parks at the time which appealed only to kids (the adults just sitting around bored) and which were dirty, noisy, and smelled bad.

Honestly, it’s such a monkey’s paws situation because while the redesign did saved the franchise, the success of the first movie also caused a lame trend where people get to bully corporations if the character designs aren’t appealing enough for them (examples: Shrek 5 and Bluey movie)
