After 45 hours of Fortune's Weave over the last month, I was actually feeling an itch for Path of Radiance again. I had trailed off around chapter 8 before ... now I'm in chapter 10! I'm getting my momentum back. The more linear structure is kind of a relief, actually.

Something cool with Street Fighter 6 ... you can train against DLC characters you haven't purchased yet in the new-ish Avatar Arcade mode, and even unlock their fighting styles / moves for your avatar, all without buying that character.

I love seeing new takes on Gameboy / N64 games by modern dev teams, but there's something about the original games of those retro eras that can't quite be replicated ... because back then, these weren't indie projects; studios were pushing that hardware to its limits through sheer force / creativity

Galactic Racer has a slight learning curve to it but the mechanics are satisfying once they start clicking. You basically have two different types of boosts you can toggle between on the fly: - your normal afterburner (use what you have) - riskier payoff ramjet (sorta like excitebike's heat gauge)

Chapter 9 in Fortune's Weave (Cai) was an unexpected detour. The equivalent of a filler episode with a very unique concept in the middle of a season.

Enjoyed the new Castlevania demo overall The art style isn't as timeless aa the PS1/GBA/DS games but it grew on me. Game runs smoothly on NS2 too. The first boss was an extremely sharp difficulty spike for me. I had to modify the settings slightly (70% damage received compared to the default 100%)

Finally got myself Street Fighter 6 for Switch 2. One of my favorite fighting games. I've been toying around with double dipping for a while, and now that NS2 is my main platform (and the Year 1+2 bundle was on sale!), I decided to go for it. Nice to have. Wanna beat world tour eventually for real

I'm hitting that "flow state" with Fortune's Weave that gets me through a long game (like Xenoblade / Like a Dragon) I'm fully comfortable with the mechanics but consistently challenged by the battles themselves. That's the sweet spot. Recruiting/exploring is fun too. Love the "free time" system.

Watching the Resident Evil movie put me in the mood to go back and revisit RE2. I'd love to have the Switch 2 version in my collection someday, but I already own the PS5 version (where I finished Leon's campaign) so I'm primed to go back and do Claire's version this time. I hear it's interesting.

I'd say Microsoft learned the wrong lessons from Nuts & Bolts. People aren't opposed to Banjo experimenting with other genres. It was just such a specific mismatch for the IP and the game relentlessly mocked itself for it. Genres that would have been fun: - side-scroller - RPG (Mario & Luigi style)

My relationship with gaming is almost exclusively handheld these days. For Nintendo, that's pretty much the default. I've gone through a few different configurations for PS5, but my favorite form currently is the Backbone controller combined with the Team Asobi app for PS plus cloud streaming.
