Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 05/10/2026There have been so many books I've read simply because the cover art was awesome. My video game purchases have been few and far between, based on the recommendations of others or playing in a specific world. But if it weren't for that, then yeah, I'd be basing my purchase on visuals. 030

Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Oh wait oh wait oh wait! I was reading the Reddit thread and saw "Oreo 3" cookie wafers" which they said was at Walmart and lo and behold Walmart's online store *does* have them! That looks exactly like what I saw! I have no idea why my searches didn't turn them up before. I have them on order now! 110
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Those look delicious and I will try cooking the substitute, but the ones I had at the conference had a pattern impressed into them like the Oreo ones do. Thank you so much for the recipe! 010
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I've never seen them again. Never found them online. Not even sure what they're called. If anyone reading this thread knows where I can get *just the cookie* and not the filling, please PLEASE let me know. I know they exist! I just don't know where to find them. 120
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 02/10/2026More than ten years ago, I was at a conference and the catering service served oreo cookies that were only the dark chocolate cookie part. No filling. They looked like a slightly bigger version of the regular oreo - same thickness, little bigger diameter. They were delicious. Perfect. I've never- 120
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026That *does* look like you! The hat! the color coordinated dress! :D 012
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I love that you worked on this and approached it as thoughtfully and passionately as you obviously did! Thank you for sharing your vision of Murderbot! I’m excited to see it. 120
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Yeah, I have Chrome as a browser on my laptop still because I can't stream on discord without it, and the last time I tried to open Duolingo on Firefox, it wouldn't work. So I keep it open for those two uses only and do all my regular internetting in Firefox. 010
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Second result on DuckDuckGo, with all AI turned off, is Wikipedia, which says, "It will be theatrically released by A24 on October 16, 2026." I haven't looked AI summaries in most of a year, but thanks for letting me know its still not safe to read that stuff. 110
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 08/09/2026@rosewind.bsky.social Maybe not the most uplifting portrayal of ducks in media. But ... it is very interesting! 121

Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I've been thinking about those AI data centers and the only thing I can think of that requires that much processing on an ongoing basis is surveillance. 000
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 01/09/2026I learned about ICU trauma, which explains a *lot* about me for the last few months. Yay 'Murder and Mayhem' panel! 150

Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 29/08/2026That may be true! For about 6 weeks after the bowel resection, my body had some objections to my regular diet. I had to really ease into it. But I remain of the opinion that it is more 'what you're used to eating'. Although that 'used to eating' might take many weeks and so might as well be innate. 010
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Okay. I've never tried eating two pounds a day, but I eat half a pound easy. 110
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 29/08/2026I can eat a pound of watermelon a day and don't spend any extra time on the toilet. Except for the first day of the year when I eat watermelon. That first day (actually the 2nd) - there will be toilet time. But not after. The body adjusts. 100

Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 16/08/2026For me, once I had my agency taken away, sex stopped being something special to share with someone I loved and became just a tool to facilitate certain types of relationships. Any reaction is valid, but hypersexuality is the one that jumps out at me as the most true to life. (or at least, my life) 2160
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 16/08/2026The reactions I've seen seem to come from ignorance. More a 'I think I would react X way if that happened, so anyone that it did happen to would also react X way and anyone who doesn't react X way didn't have it happen to them (or is written badly).' But it's not like I've taken a survey. 070

Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 08/08/2026You are entirely right. Buy the fruit netted, but once home, take it out of the net and put it in the bowl, so that anyone passing by can take one without having to fetch the scissors or a knife or just tear the netting apart like a savage. It should be easy to take a fruit. 121

Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Not real in what way? I assumed it was remote controlled or otherwise intentionally directed to drive off it. Which is no more funny than someone driving their car or a Roomba off a pier. 'Yeah, okay, you can destroy a thing. So what?' Was the film clip AI generated? 100
Gamebird @gamebyrd.bsky.social · 02/08/2026I can't tell the difference. In the pictures, I initially thought the dark bar was a spoiler/redaction bar to hide something you didn't want us to see. Which of course made me look closer, but yeah. The grey panels look the same. 000
