How much do you know about this historic wall in Galway's Westend? You can just make out the engraving of "Cloherty & Semple" who owned the Atlantic Sawmills in the 19th Century. A headrace from the canal powered a turbine for the sawmill - reputed to be the first turbine used in Ireland!

Street Closures... but make it COLOURFUL 💜🩵🧡💚 Throughout May, the streets of Galway's Westend are Pedestrianised from 6pm Thu-Sun & Bank Hol Mon. From 1st of June, street closures operate 7 days from 6pm and 3pm at weekends. The Small Crane remains closed to traffic 24/7 as per previous.
