Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 01/10/2026No, I think just exhausted from no sleep last night due to thinking I was coming down with something. Better now. Thanks. 000
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Hey, fellow galleychatters, I hope to make it, but I'm not feeling well, so I may have to take it to my bed. If I'm not there, I'll post my titles later. #ewgc 370
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Today is GalleyChat, starting at 3:30 (EST) for virtual happy hour, with book talk starting at 4:00. For more books to add to your TBR pile, please join us using #ewgc . 071
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I believe she is one of the hardest working authors out there; I'm amazing at how prolific she is and how good she is at self-promotion. #ewgc 140
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Big thank you to @fineplan.bsky.social for compiling this month's titles. I'll send an email when the final catalog is posted on EarlyWord.com. If you need to be added to my notification list, email me at galleychatter@earlyword.com. AND if you're interested in helping w/ future chats, let me know.earlyword.comEarlyWord: The Publisher | Librarian Connection - The Publisher | Librarian ConnectionThe Publisher | Librarian Connection 120
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026A reminder that our next GalleyChat comes up in just three short weeks, on October 1, so everyone, get crackin' on those advanced DRCs and ARCs, OK? :-) #ewgc 181
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026And not a single negative comment! I believe that could be a new record. ;-) #ewgc 020
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Any fans of Iain Reid's books (author of I'M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS)? His next book is co-authored with Ellie Foumbi, A NEW KIND OF CLEAN & eager to see what new twists they have up their sleeves. #ewgc 050
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I am a huge fan of Jennifer E. Smith's novels and can't wait to read her next book, RABBIT RABBIT, coming in December. #ewgc 050
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I let out a little squeal when I saw the next Alice Feeney book, TWIST (February), was available on Edelweiss. #ewgc www.edelweiss.plus?sku=12504246...edelweiss.plusEdelweiss+Edelweiss, by Above the Treeline, is the book industry’s platform to sell, discover, and order new titles. 020
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026When I worked in the library, I always meant to read Julian Gloag's OUR MOTHER'S HOUSE but never did. I was happy to see it being re-released by @penguinrandomhouse.bsky.social, so I downloaded a DRC on Edelweiss. Eager to finally read this gothic-toned dark novel. #ewgc 040
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Hard to imagine it could be him as he has only written two books and I think the second one was a bit underwhelming but who knows? #ewgc 010
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I read Jane Wiedlin's memoir, TMI: MEMOIRS OF A GO-GO, and yep, a little too much TMI but it was definitely entertaining. She "bares" all, pretty much. #ewgc 060
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026A goal #ewgc is spreading the word about future releases. I think I may have won in this regard. Yesterday I posted in Facebook's Historical Fiction Fiction Lovers group about Marie Benedict's next book, WITCH OF WALL STREET, coming in March and the post has over 1100 likes! Heh. 290
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Yes, they are. I listened to the first one and enjoy the narrator's posts on TikTok. It's fun to watch him in action. #ewgc 030
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Right now, I am inhaling Caitlin Doughty's DEAD IN THE WATER (April), with in-depth reporting about the Titanic passengers. I'm only 10 pages in and already have chills. She is such a compelling writer. #ewgc 081
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026SPEECHLESS by Jordan Sawyer (January) has many of us buzzing about the author's true identity-- a bestselling author who lives in NYC and Sag Harbour . Any guesses? It's next on my TBR pile. #ewgc 250
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I usually wait for Janet Evanovich's books featuring Stephanie Plum to arrive in audio, but I didn't want to wait, so I snapped up the digital review copy of SPLIT SECOND (November). It was, as usual, a fun romp, and I didn't miss the audio since the voices are in my head. #ewgc 150
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026If you are new here--#ewgc -- check out this post with a little more information about GalleyChat and EarlyWord - bsky.app/profile/debb...bsky.appDebbie Ridpath Ohi (@debbieohi.com)Curious about @earlyword.bsky.social GalleyChat #ewgc, a Bluesky chat for librarians & library staff about forthcoming books? Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Hey, everyone. I'll be late but will be there to talk about a few good books. #ewgc 040
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Hey Galleychatters, our next #ewgc chat will take place on September 10 instead of the 3rd. We would hate to leave out anyone who might be doing an early exit for the Labor Day weekend. 065
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026It's a great place to find out about what we're loving, which helps librarians in getting good books for their patrons. 000
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Thanks for your interest! GalleyChat originated in April 2010 on Twitter as a place for library people (or anyone, actually) to talk about the advance reading copies they enjoyed. Titles are compiled as an Edelweiss catalog. Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Before I leave, our next GC is scheduled for the Thursday before the Labor Day weekend. Any thoughts on postponing until September 10? Seems many are busy, preparing to leave early or dreaming of a 3-day weekend and forgetting about GC. #ewgc 381
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I am always up for a good memoir or biography of celebrities so I am looking forward to BOB NEWHART by Michael Starr (Oct) and IS IT TOO LATE TO MAKE A RUN FOR IT by Judy Dench (November). #ewgc 050
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I recently discovered the joy of listening to Edward Ashton's science fiction book MICKEY7 on audio and am looking forward to the next in the series, including MICKEY PRIME, coming in February 2027. It was a good readalike for fans of the Murderbot series. #ewgc 070
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I want to give thanks to those who are keeping #ewgc alive. Special thanks to volunteers who are compiling every month's titles into an Edelweiss catalog. If anyone else is interested in helping, we need help for the months after November. Feel free to DM me at galleychatter at gmail dot com. 0101
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but my sister read Jane Wiedlin's memoir, TMI (Nov). The guitarist and founder of the Go-Go's tells readers they may want to know, but my sis found it both hilarious and touching. #ewgc 030
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Patience is not my strong suit but I have no choice, eh? ;-) #ewgc 120
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Also looking forward to a "local" Tucson author, Lydia Millet's next book, FAIR ONES, coming in October. #ewgc 061
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Next up on my list is Linwood Barclay's NOT A WORD (Aug). He never fails to deliver a nonstop thriller that is impossible to put down. It will be perfect for this torrid weather. #ewgc 060
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Has anyone read Chloe Benjamin's UNDER STORY (Sept)? The "much love" is astronomical on Edeweiss. I loved her earlier book, THE IMMORTALISTS. #ewgc 030
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I am looking forward to Michael Douglas's memoir, ONE HELLUVA A RIDE, coming in October. I doubt there will be an advance copy, but a girl can dream... #ewgc 020
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026My first post is a major WHY????????? I have been looking forward to the next Cher memoir, which was postponed to November 2026 and now it's not being published until late April!!! @librarylovefest - I'm so disappointed. #ewgc 130
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Almost time to talk books. For some odd reason, I have been catching up on published books so I don't have much to offer except a bunch I'm looking forward to reading. #ewgc 080
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Is anyone from #ewgc here for virtual happy hour? I'm wondering if we should discontinue this time period, as not many are participating. What do you think -- provided anyone is here! :-) 150
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 09/07/2026I was going to ask about this as I saw it had a ton of "Much Loves" on Edelweiss. Glad to hear it's good. I liked her previous book. #ewgc 000
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Hey, @prhlibrary.bsky.social , any idea if DRCs will be available for the next Liane Moriarty book, BIG LITTLE TRUTHS? So eager to read this! #ewgc 030
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Well, would you look at that? It's GalleyChat day, and I have another appointment! Sheesh, someday I'll be here in person! In the meantime, enjoy the show and I'll submit my titles later so they can appear on the GC compilation. See you all next month (maybe!) on August 6. #ewgc 030
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 04/06/2026Time is almost up for this month's chat. July's chat is scheduled for the 2nd. Will that work for everyone? #ewgc 250
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 04/06/2026I started Ashley Audrain's THE THINGS YOU'LL NEVER KNOW and was immediately absorbed, but will wait to finish closer to the pub date of Jan 2027. [Note: those of you who downloaded it a bit ago may have it on your Kindle/ereader as THE TRUTH.] #EWGC 010
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 04/06/2026Peter Swanson's DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE (Oct) was a fun gumdrop of a holiday story. It was short and sweet, and a bit like an Agatha Christie locked room mystery. #ewgc 160
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 04/06/2026As usual, I inhaled the next Beaumont mystery by JA Jance, THE TAKEN ONES (November), and was left with both happy and sad feelings -- happy because I was such a good story with it's usual array of appealing people, but sad because it will be two years before another one is published. #ewgc 020
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 04/06/2026Already one of my favorite books of the year is THE SINGLE GIRLS by John Searles (July). It's a marvelous look at Helen Gurley Brown and how she developed Cosmopolitan magazine into a powerhouse. Photo of me reading in my favorite salon. #ewgc 141
Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 04/06/2026I just checked out Big Little Lies from the library so I can refresh my memory for the forthcoming sequel, BIG LITTLE TRUTHS, coming in August. #ewgc 130

Robin @galleychatter.bsky.social · 04/06/2026I know I'm a week or two late but I absolutely loved THE FOURSOME by Christina Baker Kline. Fascinating history and family. It was fun to go down a rabbit hole looking up photos and history. No wonder the women looked a little chagrined: 21 kids between the two of them! #ewgc 150
