The opening example is a terrible investment: buying a $2,400 "asset" and then selling at break-even years later means not only did the asset not appreciate, but it actually had its value eaten by inflation. It literally would have been a better investment to put that money in a savings account.

It takes a few times to learn how to use a roundabout for people used to only stoplights, but there's nothing inherently harder about them; just different. One benefit is that the severity of crashes are dramatically reduced (lowed speeds, no head-ons, etc.) Stats: www.iihs.org/research-are...
