🇬🇭Ghanaian bridging the gap between climate experts & you. No fear-mongering, just common sense. Think of Earth as your home: you protect it from "robbers" because it’s yours, not because you’re afraid. I’m not here to spread fear— just common sense. Peace

I’m curious — what’s one thing about living in the UK that people outside don’t really understand until they experience it?

I don’t live in the UK, but I feel like I understand it already @liamatsu.bsky.social told me a lot about the weather in UK One minute it’s cold, next minute it’s “maybe summer is here”… then it disappears again. Respect to anyone who plans their day around that.

Stability is something people assume… until it starts slipping. And once it does, everything becomes more expensive to maintain.

Just found this old footage from when I was recording “Ruby on the Roba”. Yamaha Revstar with P90s, straight into the Overloud TH-U plugin — basically a full pedalboard + amp wall in one 🔥 For the curious: running it in Reaper DAW on Linux Mint via Bottles (Wine).

Wind energy is clean, but not impact-free. But a nationwide study of 40 wind farms in Chile found over 2,400 bird and bat deaths — including the threatened Andean condor. The bigger concern? Monitoring is often inconsistent, so the real impact may be higher. A fascinating and important read 👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿

What’s one food item that’s noticeably more expensive now than before?

You don’t need a report to tell you something is changing. Just go to the market.

When food and fuel rise at the same time… that’s not coincidence.

Sel Gadede Atigah @gadedeselorm.bsky.social · 17/04/2026
Food getting expensive isn’t random. Weather affects farms. Fuel affects transport. Put both together… prices move.

Most people don’t notice change when it starts. They notice when it becomes expensive.

I don’t even argue with people about climate anymore. I just listen to what they complain about… and it usually leads back to the same thing.

People wait for a “big sign” that something is wrong. But rising prices, strange weather, and unstable supply… are the signs.

When ships start turning back and routes get tense, it’s not just headlines. It’s the system saying, “things aren’t flowing smoothly.”

The world isn’t becoming unpredictable. It’s becoming harder to ignore patterns we used to overlook.

People say “it’s just fuel prices.” But fuel touches everything. Food. Transport. Business. So when fuel moves… it’s never just fuel. Can’t anyone tell Trump to stop the nonsense?

There’s a war going on far away. But here’s the simple part: when oil becomes harder to move, fuel prices react… and once fuel moves, everything else follows.

Sel Gadede Atigah @gadedeselorm.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
Everyone’s talking about the Strait of Hormuz like it’s politics. It’s actually simpler than that. Imagine one narrow road where a big chunk of the world’s fuel passes. Now people are fighting over that road. Ships turn back → supply drops → prices react.

Quick one — what’s one change you’ve noticed lately that just feels… different? (weather, prices, anything)

Most climate action isn’t dramatic. It’s just better systems. Cleaner energy. Less waste. Smarter transport. Nothing fancy. Just things that make sense long term.

Been off BlueSky for a while. Came back and… yeah, the conversations haven’t changed much. But the climate has. Anyway, let’s keep it simple and talk sense again.

Ghana in 2026 is heartbreaking. The only fast way to success is through Galamsey, politics, gambling, or fraud. Your University degree becomes useless. This is frustrating

Wonderful piece. Incase you wondering what it says…. Greenland’s ice isn’t “suddenly collapsing.” It’s slowly getting weaker — from the top, from the inside, and through small cracks. Like a wall that looks fine… until one day it isn’t.

Wondering what this article is talking about?? Greenland’s ice is melting faster partly because it’s getting darker. Wind blows dusty “fertilizer” onto the ice. Algae grows. Dark ice absorbs more heat. It’s like swapping a white shirt for a black one in the sun. Same planet. More heat absorbed.

Quick check Have food prices changed where you live in the last few years? Up? Same? Down? Me: yes. In Ghana, a ball of kenkey in 2018 used to be 1 cedi, now it’s 5 cedi. You: ?????

One thing climate change teaches you is this: Nature doesn’t negotiate. You can argue online. Delay decisions. Pretend it’s politics. But physics just keeps going.

Think of it like this: If you build your house inside a river path, you can keep raising the walls But at some point, the river always wins. The smart move isn’t bigger walls, it’s moving the house. Climate action isn’t fear. It’s common sense. #ClimateMitigation #SeaLevelRise #ClimateReality

From what I just read - The Somerset Levels used to be under the sea. Scientists say sea levels could rise ~2m within 75 years — and more after that. Translation: You can’t permanently fight the ocean. At some point, moving people is smarter than raising walls forever.

This isn't just an issue for Somerset. Huge swathes of England, including the Fens, Broads and Humberhead Levels, are already at or below sea level We're going to lose much of our best agricultural land, and millions of people will become climate refugees What's the plan?

Climate action isn’t charity. It’s maintenance. You don’t service your car because you love mechanics — you do it so the engine doesn’t fail on the highway.

If armed robbers were breaking into your house slowly, you wouldn’t wait for the TV news to confirm it. You’d lock doors. Call neighbors. Fix weak points. Climate change is the same thing — just quieter. Protect the planet like you’d protect your home.

If you rent a house, you don’t wait for the landlord to care before you sweep. You sweep because you live there. Earth is the same. No planet B. No landlord in the sky. Just us — tenants who forgot basic house rules. Taking care of the environment isn’t activism. It’s home training.

Climate action isn’t just about being “green.” It’s about not leaving messes for strangers, future children, or poorer communities to clean up. Most of us were raised better than that. You don’t have to be an activist to care.

Net Zero is little more than greenwash. And now that neoliberal ‘centrism’ has successfully paved the way for neoliberal authoritarianism, greenwash is no longer necessary. The lesson? Money will always trump our children’s futures until this system is ripped to pieces.

To my Muslim brothers and sisters, If you don’t celebrate Christmas, there’s no need to announce it. Simply abstain and move on. We don’t need unnecessary drama over personal beliefs when peaceful coexistence and mutual respect should be our priority.

I have LGBTQ friends. I have rich friends, poor friends, Muslim friends, Christian friends, and friends from different backgrounds. I do not have any problem with what someone chooses to do with themselves. I just mind my business and cheer people up. Maybe you should try that and be at peace!
