I'm getting my nails done for the first time at 35 for the #ACOTAR themed starlight ball tonight.

Day 2 of Montreal Fae Weekend ft. The #ACOTAR Ball was rocky, but we persisted: - Horrible hotel stay eventually had to be comped. - Moved to a tourist apartment, A+ change - Shopping at Eaton - Immersion OASIS Van Gogh Experience - Sandwiches from Shnoopi because it was highly rated and near us

AURA Experience is a must-see for tourists in town for this. Very unique, also the vibes are immaculate.

Day 1 of Montreal Fae Weekend ft. The #ACOTAR Ball went great: - Wife survived first flight. - Checked into a horrible hotel and got rebooked thanks to some helpful ball-goers - Saw Notre-Dame - Visited the Illusion Museum - Ate at a poutinerie in Old Montreal - Saw the AURA Experience @ Notre-Dame

It's probably more likely to happen in soccer. There's a great book by Sean Fitz-Gerald called "When The Lights Go Out" which has a large portion about how the small town dream is dying.

I got my first #tattoo last year. It was about picking something I really wanted to get tattooed and this came unstuck in my brain. D20 Compass = DMing. Now I'm going to fill my arm with characters funneling into that D20 to show my inspirations as a DM. I'm starting with the White Mage from FFT

Told my wife that #ACOTAR reminded me of teen/YA fiction but grown up a little bit. Tropes, etc. That wasn't an insult. People deserve to enjoy the things they liked then and have those things grow with them. Applies to genres as much as series. Looking forward to the sequels when I get to them.

I just called the Sci-Fi equivalent to Romantasy, Science-Fucktion, and I am on a heater for Dad jokes that could only be constructed by the childless.

The only complaint I could possibly come up with for the #canucks tonight is Sherwood got manhandled a bit But he also drew the game winning penalty, and he's still the league leader in hits by a mile. I think we're fine.

I mean this with 100% sincerity, too. This is balancing stupid and awesome on a knife's edge. I will watch 120 minutes of this kind of nonsense with no regrets.

I also watched the #RoyalRumble this past weekend. In an opinion I'm learning is unpopular. They had the right men's winner. Nobody else needed the win to be legitimized. The winner did.

As someone who had a sports radio show locally for a few years, if one more person says, "Don't make sports political," I'm going to scream.

#Grammys were super fun to watch last night. I was very entertained. Had a few takeaways. The biggest below.

Reidane was the most expensive one with her gorgeous special edition coming in at a wallet-damaging $0.30 USD according to Scryfall

Kaley Etheridge @gabrielwingue.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

Delney if definitely the best choice, but they're quite expensive right now. If you'd be down to buy a cheap commander, I might recommend one of the attached ones. Reidane and her flip-side are fun taxy commanders.

Playing a #Pokemon HeartGold #Nuzlocke just for fun as I've never beaten it that way. I'm naming my pokemon after Pink Power Rangers, and the first female pokemon I can catch is a 1% Dunsparce in Dark Cave. I don't care how good or bad it is. It's never leaving my party.

Had a lot of fun doing this yesterday, so let's tap into the #mtg #magicthegathering community again! Hey #edh / #commander players? Who is your favorite commander released in 2025? I'll Start

Huh, that's neat. I don't think I've ever seen Zask before.

Have you ever thought about trimming a color using a mono-colored partner with Bruse?

Kaley Etheridge @gabrielwingue.bsky.social · 22/01/2025

That's fun. Strionic Resonator could do some hilarious things. Copying Resonators then using the mana from all the stolen Sol Rings for extra Thada triggers. This seems like something I'd like.

Love this. Played a goad deck in Gruul for a long time for the same sort of reason. The mechanic is way more in Boros, so I got to do some fun stuff with the addition of Green.

Initiative is an amazing mechanic, and I will accept no arguments to the contrary. Let everyone have dungeons, they deserve it.

I built Flamewar when the Transformers stuff came out. It's temporarily pulled apart because I personally don't like to use proxies if I can avoid it, and I needed cards from it for other experiments.

I love Preston's design, and an LGS regular in my area has a vicious Dogmeat lost. Probably my favorite Fallout deck design wise even if I didn't buy any of them.

Blumhouse Horror is the one exception. It feels like it keeps getting longer. The more movie references they jam into it. I, for one, look forward to the 2 hour blumhouse logo director's cut.

I've sadly peaked in political commentary. I used the sentence, "No one in the Trump Administration is smart enough to solve the Lament Configuration." It made sense in context. It wasn't an unprovoked pop culture reference. It was the correct thing to say in the conversation. I'm not topping it
