🚨 G7 countries on track to lock in $50bn addl int costs by Q127 due to higher bond yields since Op Epic Fury. www.ft.com/content/6331...
My estimate as to the additional financing costs so far locked in by G7 countries since Operation Epic Fury began, and how much G7 countries will need to complete their bond issuance programs by Q12027.

The eurocrisis is officially too long ago for strategists to remember. From a note by large asset manager: "Sovereign risk premia have never been more sensitive to political fragility, and institutions matter more than the level of fragility."

People say British politicians don't get bond markets but this one absolutely gets the concept of palming off creditors with vaguely defined value recovery instruments. www.ft.com/content/fc90...
On Thursday Burnham rowed back from the idea of a direct payout, hours after his spokesperson said he was “committed to looking at” the case for compensation.

“He accepts the final decision has been made in relation to financial compensation but has indicated an openness to considering similar schemes on the Greater Manchester model,” the spokesperson said on Thursday.

The Greater Manchester model is a reference to non-financial compensation. Cut-price travel tickets could be considered, Burnham’s team added, pointing out that as mayor he has “supported Waspi women in the city-region with early access to concessionary travel, providing some recompense to them within affordability limits”.

BBC coverage of Chancellor breathing down necks of supermarkets was too sympathetic…. to supermarkets. Greedflation was only a slightly unfair term. It’s optimal for businesses to slip in price rises when lots of other prices around them arechanging. Appropriate for politicians to warn them off

Good news for Japan, Korea, Germany. Its not just about how much the US is tariffing you, but also how much the US is tariffing your competitors... For now thats mainly an issue of how much you compete with China in US markets, but that could change faster than you can say the word "liberation"
