I wouldn't want to try to rank all the medieval women outrageously maligned by later generations, but I'm afraid Lady Margaret Beaufort, would rank pretty high. So it was wonderful to have the chance to explore her impressive story with Katherine Lewis and @davidgrummitt.bsky.social for In Our Time.

Publication of my short #PenguinMonarchs book on Henry VII on #WorldBookDay is wonderful. Enjoy the early #Tudor conspiracies, tragedies & @jodyhewgill.bsky.social‘s amazing cover painting. Thanks to the team @penguinrandomhouse.bsky.social

Also, while I'm here, you'd better all not be too hungover at IMC 2026 because you're all obviously attending my Thursday 9am paper. (Pray for me).

Weird stumbling across this footnote in a 25 year old Ricardian article. Things become unexpectedly controversial. 😂
A footnote referencing 'King Edward the Fifth's chain' in Lady Capell's will.

I have finally found a Latin tutor who teaches Latin like a modern language. I was almost convinced such a thing didn't exist. I will never have to look at another grammar table again. I am genuinely overjoyed.
