It's a small part as to why I collected the original Xbox version of multiplatform games, though the bigger reason is the first Xbox was much cheaper than the GameCube version, and usually priced around the same as the ps2 version.

'Resident Evil 6' released on this day in 2012. The black sheep of the classic survival horror franchise, wherein the horror elements were prioritized at a cool third behind "constant explosions" and "co-op hijinks." Ridiculous action set pieces combine with over-long campaigns.

I don't remember Mass Effect 3 multiplayer at all, even though I played it. I do remember Mass Effect 3 getting a Wii U port, but not 1 and 2, only for the PS3 to get the first Mass Effect. Also it was better with Kinect, which was the style of the time.

That 30th anniversary of the North American launch of the Nintendo 64 does make me want to go back to Donkey Kong 64 to finish it from the beginning. Though I think my main memory of the Nintendo 64 is buying it when it was just kind of old, and GameStop was just clearing them out.

'William Shatner's TekWar' released on this day in 1995. Built on an early version of the Build engine, TekWar ambitiously attempted to tackle open world missions and stealth-driven shooting. Sadly, labyrinthian level design and busted game logic keep it stuck in cryo-prison.
