here's all my spec evo animals so far for my project. Art was made by my girlfriend (@fyutyrannus.bsky.social) My project is a very funky menagerie of strange ideas I have. Some of these ideas even being 8 years old, so it has been something I've been toying with for awhile now.

Been playing a ton of Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak again recently so here's my OC-turned-hunter Benedetta!

My oc Benedetta, a blonde woman with tinted blue hair and a curvy body, in an Japanese-inspired Monster Hunter fit, the bulletpoints on her character say:
-She cares but is bit of a dick at times (lovingly)
-The heir of a renowned family of blacksmiths
-She went to Azuria once and is now secretly dating their Princess Irina
-Gets way too heated mid-hunt
-Should probably eat less Dango

my newly beloathed paleomedia trope is featuring ONE cenozoic extinct animal in a mostly mesozoic roster but instead of picking a mammal or a bird you pick the marketable reptile/fish just because it blends with the dinosaurs better

-BEMULAR- Having come to earth after eating the pilot of the spaceship it was in, this alien's metabolism was built to feed on kaiju prey, which made it rampage as it tried to satisfy its hunger on earth. Thankfully, Ultrawoman Kibou came from the stars to stop it, and stayed with earth ever since.

Worst trope in Tokusatsu video essays is when someone will talk about a showa era show or movie and launder their arguments in "it might have dated special effects" as if: 1- We didn’t know the thing was ass old and 2- dudes in rubber suits beating eachother up isn't inherently part of the charm

Now everyone knows that most crucifixions in anime are just Ultraman references but not enough people discuss that if you want to make a 2 hour long video essay about christian symbolism in a japanese piece of media the franchise where that symbolism is most likely intended is ultraman itself

I am forever against people hating on certain furries for their inaccurate designs because that feels way too gatekeepy and anti-art. That being said i'm biased and I'll take realistic furries any day love it when I can tell someone really loves a certain critter from their art alone

Sam Neill is best known for playing Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park. Without Jurassic Park, I wouldn't have been as big of a paleonerd as I am today. Thus, I felt not drawing some manner of tribute would be criminal, in light of the news.

A coloured pen drawing of Alan Grant from Jurassic Park sat atop a grassy cliff, overlooking the sunset on Isla Nublar with Rexy/Roberta the T. rex by his side. In the distance, a volcano, brachiosaurs and the roof of the Visitor Center are visible. Text reads "THANK YOU SIR SAM NEILL."

its funny how no matter how many studies prove that dinosaurs were creatures just as complex and nuanced as any living animal there will still be an annoying fuck trying to push for their Antediluvian-ass take about dinosaurs being big dumb lizards who can't have thoughts more complex than a frog
