i got a few episodes into stargaze and then i realized i just didn't care and never watched the rest. it wasn't necessarily a bad show (can't speak for later episodes) but it didn't grab me the way stamp did

when you click new game the screen does already mention these things but people don't read so that's not reliable. big flashing letters maybe? or it could just be that they get the first bad end and decide they don't like the game, which is not something i can do anything about probably

almost half the people who play my game do so for less than 10 minutes, which probably means they get the first bad end and then never play again, which does make me wonder if i should like. make the existence of the skip button and autosave function clearer.

steam has sales breakdowns for regions but also for the prices in that region, which makes me confused, because now i know that on a game on sale for $2.24 earned $3 from a european buyer, $2 from an oceanian buyer, and $1 from a SEA buyer. how does that work. where is the money coming from/going to

say what you will about hsr but they've started fucking up planets and having the original unfucked maps expressly be you viewing past memories, which is pretty cool

the games usually end with the protagonist defeating the bad guy but the games are usually about protagonists, not the boss monster whose lore you find in an audio recording a few rooms earlier

not jpn, but there's something interesting with the titles of mxtx novels; fandom-wise, mdzs is always mdzs, tgcf is sometimes heaven official's blessing, and i don't even know the chinese name for svsss because nobody ever uses it. no rules no adherence to one language or the other just vibes

better to be a writer people feel strongly about sometimes in a negative way than a writer nobody thinks about ever, i suppose

i do get being disappointed that a good fanwork creator makes stuff you don't like, but i just move on with my life and think about other things

see i had this defense in my head that the sex i write in horror is also part of the horror and meant to be disturbing, but it is also meant to still be titillating, so i cannot claim the moral high ground. but the moral high ground is kinda meaningless and i don't feel the need to be there

lmao no worries, i know i've got fans (especially of this fic) so i know i'm not the worst writer in the world, but it is nice to hear anyway, thank you. it helps to remind myself that this is a very small minority and the vast majority of people i've seen talk about my work are very nice

and this is not the only reply along those lines. i always kinda wondered if i had haters but i never actually saw any before. i'd like to laugh it off and clearly these are not the kind of people i want to impress anyway but it never feels great to see someone say you're a bad writer

one fic i wrote bombed horribly and i thought maybe it wasn't as good as i thought it was and then months later i got a DM from someone saying they and their friends talked about it on discord multiple times and all loved it and now i think the fic was probably pretty good. that's all it takes man
