Always wished there were more people interested in talking GAA online. Been yapping to my dog for days now

I’m thinking a lot about how mcstay left mayo right as two wonder kids come through. Feels very cruel on the man.

Even though I love Calvin and Hobbes I've always thought this was a great Take thereon.

Calvin looking smug with a glass of red wine says "what is your opinion on postmodern literature, Hobbes?" Hobbes with a big grin replies "Hmm? Sorry I didn't hear you. I was too busy considering Wittgenstein's picture theory of language". We then cut to a kid who is reading a comic labelled "Me when I was 7" and they are frowning while thinking "Why can't I understand what they're talking about in this comic? Am I STUPID or something?!?" Meanwhile an image of Bill Watterson, author of Calvin and Hobbes, has been superimposed over the back of the last image, grinning smugly.

Have been trawling through a lot of match programmes and match reports for Mayo games, developing a repository of info about Mayo games since 2024. My favourite programme design, from Derry GAA

A part of Your face tomorrow: fever and spear that stood out to me, lol. Loving it because I love a book that isn’t afraid to just start listing facts and trivia in rambles at you

GAA Match day programmes will never lose their charm. I love the casual writing style of people who write articles like this too, always so effortlessly conversational

The best thing about studying library science is that you learn about your profession by fiddling with the library website instead of doing your research project. I now know how to email a list of citations to myself

Retiring this profile picture, from an old age book I found while working in Galway public library. I’ll miss it

Always interesting that the experience of northern Catholics/nationalists under British rule is rarely if ever invoked when Irish people over the border explain the solidarity between Ireland and Palestine. The peace process is linked here but not the structural sectarianism & British Army killings

Feel like stats like ‘most goal contributions since X player joined the league’ are very sneakily biased, one of them ones where it’s hard to see how biased it is immediately
